I am definately buying this right up, I have very fond memories of playing this with a friend years ago. We absolutely loved it.
I played this a long time ago... I remember it wasn't so bad until I got to some level (don't remember which) where the first basic enemy encounter just wiped out my entire team. Couldn't get past that part, so I stopped playing

Narwhal: I really disliked this Vampire. Story was good, but that was pretty much all. Dungeons were boring, combats were not balanced (Weapons => Very bad. Haste + Claws => No need to save, you ll just chew your way), graphics were so-so.
To be avoided in my opinion, but well...

Where this game really shines is multiplayer. If you can find a good group of roleplayers and an effective storyteller, the multiplayer chronicles are incredible.

TheMadSpin: I still have the copy of this I pre-ordered in 2000, but I remember it being really crash heavy and unreliable.
Did they fix these problems in the last 10 years? I would love a DRM free version because I have ALWAYS wanted to finish this game (as I stare at my dusty shelf full of Vampire: The Masquerade RPG books), but it would never let me get close.

I've been playing Redemption off and on since it was in beta testing. It was never a very crash-prone game. Are you sure you are not thinking of Bloodlines? That has several issues that can cause frequent crashes.

Oh, right, I'm an idiot and can't remember the single Vampire game I own or the experiences I had with it. If only I'd beta tested it.
Why is it that a quick internet search on metacritic confirms that I'm not an idiot, but someone who beta tested it says, "oh no, you must have it wrong."
Maybe the reason the game was buggy is because the beta testers didn't do a very good job?
(Yeah, that's probably the meanest thing I've ever posted here, but being condescended to via the old betatest name drop when the information given is clearly CLEARLY wrong--just too much for me to deal with in a busy day.)
I was hoping for Bloodlines. :((

Wow, overreact much? Somebody has their forum sensitivity set way too high.
You said you remembered being crash prone, all I was saying was that I remember differently. No condescension involved at all, just a different experience. You want to take that as condescension, that's your problem, not mine.
Waitwaitwait - multiplayer?
...Oh good grief, my wallet, alas, 'tis empty! My exams, oh noez, they are close at hand! And yet, thy poison, thy sweet smell, oh God, IT'S IRRESISTIBLE!
*hurries off to bank*

I lol'd. This is what I imagined when I read that post.
Buying. As in NOW.
However, this one is just a pleasant game with an interesting story. The real RPG masterpiece is the other one, VM - Bloodlines (well, it was a very, very flawed masterpiece back then, but who cares about that now, after so many patches?). Would love to see it here.

We need to get some people together for this. I've only ever played this singleplayer and the multiplayer seemed at the time this strange and inaccessible... thing.
A good game, more for the story and the vampire background than the actual gameplay which is pretty average and sometimes frustrating.
This is ultra awesome. The brazillian package said something like "an immortal RPG", and it is in fact a game I go back to at times.

Aliasalpha: Freaking AWESOME game. I dare people not to love it!
If anyone wants a player for the interactive DM mode, I'm game

If you ever put together a group and want an occasional extra brawler, drop me a line (RafaelVx@gmail.com).

That's a fantastic idea. A GOG multiplayer RPG session. But who would DM it?

yaster: Love? I don't even like it.
Hack & Slash with over-made dialogues. Not even good hack & slash. Plenty of repletion, lack of challenge and boring level design. And the running... jeez never-ending running, soooo slooooow.
It had splendid graphics and nice atmosphere at the time, but since it's fairly early 3d game it didn't aged well. Too bad.

I'll respect your opinion of not liking the game at all, but I find the statement that the game has bad graphics of "didn't aged well" harsh! The game has the coolest graphics of that time and is immensely playable.
I'm having a lot of trouble believing this...
I've spent a long time trying to find this game, and when I have, finances (or a lack) would result in a missed purchase.
Thank you, GOG.. I'm speechless with absolute adoration.
