Aviadmd: I literary jumped up my sit when I saw this release, 20 days after SC2 and I can say TA still retains it's title as the greatest RTS of all time.
Truly is a must buy for any RTS fan.
A truly ground breaking game who aged EXTREMELY well with 100+ single player missions, huge community support and an addictive MP for 5.99$... TA is a LOT game for your buck!
*On a side note the OST alone is worth your money.

Given how sc2 was done, and that it is inferior to the first sc under many factor, i'm non surprised that TA still has chance.

Aargh! Too late!

JDV72: As you can see from the link above, the forum for TA is missing an "n".

No, that's a forum we have here for nihilists. :)

Hmm.... you weren't too late. I just got it. Incorrect copy/paste?
Thanks wishing well, whoever you are. I'm looking forward to playing it, I have friends that rave about it.

Wait, what?
Nooooooooooo!
Probably an extra space or something. I went as quick about it as possible and didn't check again since chances were I was already a bit late (there was a reply under the well's post already).
Don't worry about it and enjoy it. Next time, thewishingwell.... next time....
Never understood what was so special about Total Annihilation (seemed like a pretty generic RTS compared to the distinctive styles and gameplay elements of C&C and Warcraft/Starcraft), but I guess it's still comparatively speaking a legitimately good old game and therefore a worthy additon to the GOG catalogue.

Well, if you've never tried it, I can understand why you say that. Truth is, it is quite different than that. It was very well balanced when released. For instance, most ARM units feature inaccurate fast firing guns, high speed, and light armor. Most Core units feature heavy armor, slow movement, and concentrated firepower. In fact, some Core units are so large, they cannot be air transported (e.g. Sumo, Krogoth, et al.) Definately worth a shot if you have a sixer and a weekend to spare.
I think part of the long life that it had was because it was one of the first moddable games.
Classic RTS game and for $5.99 = must have. :)

Salsa_Shark: F**king 10 day waiting period for paypal. I want this so bad as its my favourite game but i don't own a copy of it(i was waiting for a big box copy to go along with both of my expansion packs).

Add a pre-paid credit card to your Paypal account. When the money runs out, you will still be able to make instant purchases which will later be withdrawn from your bank account. Been doing this for years.

MIK0: Still need to know if this is the same as Stardock version or not. Anyone who tried?

It's not DRM riddled like Stardock's games.

Insta-buy! I thought this game would never be released here! Thank-you.

Bluekkis: I wonder how TA works these days with my current resolution though. It is one of the first games I remember that supported pretty much any resolution. But even with 1600x1200 units were tiny and I could see almost whole map back in the days.. :P

At high resolutions, you have to have everything last command memorized, including factories and factory build commands, as the interface becomes too small to click quickly. Movement is also more sloppy, as you can't finesse distances as much. I play at a medium resolution.
