What hi-res patch?
Ahh do declare! *back of hand to forehead and faints*
Anyone knows how this compares to the Impulse release, does it contain the enhancements that Stardock included in theirs? or are there any differences between the two versions other than the respective Digital Download services?
Thanks
One very nice game.
Good multiplayer on a LAN as well!

wait, what enhancements? : O
Awesome release! I had recently installed the disc version because I wanted to play it again, but I went ahead and snagged this one to ensure compatibility and get the Battle Tactics expansion.

Stardock posted the following, which can be found here: http://forums.stardock.com/377352.
"Stardock is handling the support for Total Annihilation directly and includes a new launcher that helps automatically configure the game for modern systems, streamlines getting multiplayer games going and includes easy access to tips and tricks for getting the most out of it.
As part of Stardock's support for the game, it will be releasing subsequent updates (with Atari's permission) to further streamline multiplayer, incorporate Impulse Reactor and work with fan sites to incorporate new content into the "official" release. It will also be further enhancing the release to prepare it for eventual availability on other digital distributors. "
A wonderful surprise!

According to post in stardock forums, some multiplayer modifications and integration into impulse. And new launcher. So probably not in this gog release. Nothing we would miss, well I won't at least. Personally not a big fan of multiplayer RTS, most players takes it too seriously for gameplay to be interesting or fun anyway.
That's really in the spirit of GOG. Great release!
Wonderful release, great price!
That's the exact meaning of GOG!!!
Will grab this one despite owning an original disc already.

DelusionsBeta: I'm going to have to chew on this one. Sure, this version trumps the (AFAIK sans expansion pack) GamersGate version, but I'm chewing over whether this is superior to the Impulse version, and their promises to intergrate Impulse Reactor and new multiplayer infrastructure and the hi-res patch. But then again, you don't really argue with six bucks.

I don't know about the other parts, but the hi-res patch seems a bit unnecessary. This game is extremely resolution-friendly.

I'm very pleased to hear that the soundtrack is working ingame, the lack of that in the impulse version annoyed me greatly as it's a very good soundtrack.
This game miles ahead of something like Starcraft 2, and at just 5.99 with all the expansion packs it represents unbeatable value!

Impulse didn't even have the soundtrack? Wow, yeah now I'm triply glad I waited for the GOG version. The soundtrack is really very damn good stuff.
This game is a must-have both for RTS fans and genre newcomers, which makes it a must-have for GOG's catalogue.
I own this game, but not the two expansions. I may buy this, but I'm not sure if I'll ever play the game again - I'm not really an RTS fan anymore. Maybe I'll reinstall it and give it another go.
