Today's second release is, beyond doubt, the most oldschool one in GOG.com's history. Read below to find out why.

The Anthology includes Zork I, Zork II, Zork III, Beyond Zork, Zork Zero, and Planetfall. This means six titles in total, all hailing from the 1980s, weighing in at a whopping nine megabytes. Yep, that means just around one floppy disk per game.
That means plain text and gameplay based on text input, but beneath the rough exterior lies a beauty that's hard to find in more modern games. Countless unforgettable situations and descriptions from the Zork series have become iconic in more contemporary fiction, both printed and interactive.

pawelgr5: Seems like community "guessed" your "new" games without any problems. Well keep em coming ;) Hope you can give us System Shock 2 soon. This one is rather not for me but I am sure it brings nostalgic feelings for many people.
They are good games. Nostalgia doesn't have to have anything to do with it.

I'm also fluent in American Sign Language. And English, oddly enough. :P

I am currently trying Polish, but sweet zombies is it throwing me for a loop. At least in part because I'm not studying it with the kind of focus I should be. The siren song of video games keeps distracting me.#Q&_^Q&Q#LINK:30#Q&_^Q&Q#

If did not already have Infocom masterpieces collection i would buy this, i can recomend the original zork trilogy to anybody, but wonder why the zork anthology has planetfall, would enchanter, sorcerer , spellbreaker and wishbring not make more sense, but it is still an exelent buy.

How about the level 9 games on gog, that would be great.

I second that motion, somewhere in the passing of time I lost my CD or was it DVD version of Zork Grand Inquisitor. I used to have the Zork Anthology of those text based classics but maybe I misplaced those as well, never did play them.

I guess he edited the post to correct the writing, because the current one is in perfect spanish for me :).

I never thought I would "meh" Infocom but the pack is too small. I wanted to see something like the "Lost Treasures" box... or the graphical ones with some of the text adventures thrown in.

Greylord: I like text adventures, but I'm afraid you need a certain (high) english level to enjoy the Zork Anthology, so I will have to pass on this classic :(.
i don't think it's exactly about a high english level; there is a formula for text adventures that you have to learn.
it's more like doing a crossword puzzle, where most problems are solved in similar ways, and the more puzzles you solve, the easier it becomes to solve more.
what you have to type, what you can type, is pretty basic stuff, like "use cog with machine" or "pull red switch."
the most difficult thing about text adventures, and especially zork, is the mapping that you have to do. it's almost impossible to beat a zork game for the first time without drawing your own map of game.

Oddly enough, I have these games on CD. I found it a while back for a few dollars in a used bookstore.

I've only played the first one. I got stuck, though.
