lowyhong: Anyone want to try an online session of this?
avatar
ventsetti: Certainly. But how?

I have absolutely zero idea. I'm no good with networking stuff. But if anyone wants to give this a try, reply to this post and we'll talk more on IRC or something.

ventsetti: Yeah, I tried that. Still get the same error.

HampsterStyle: GOG used OpenGLide for the glide wrapper. Maybe you could try different versions of it and/or video driver. There's also an OpenGLide ini config to play around with in the game folder.

Maybe I'll do that. Though it's weird that D3D doesn't work either.

HampsterStyle: Whenever you see colors like that and you're on vista/win7 - make a batch file that kills the GUI (explorer.exe) before launching the game and then restarts it after exiting game.
example:
taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
start /w <game exe here without carrots>
pause
start explorer.exe

Worked brilliantly for me, thanks! Still no 3D acceleration, but honestly, I can live with that. Thanks for the batch file!

stonebro: Like every other game in the Activision catalogue, I won't buy it.
Yet.

Why not?

He mentioned it in a previous post. He said he was going to buy all the Activision games anyway, but he wanted to wait until the end of February and buy them all in one shot.

Chihaya: No soundtrack? Considering it's one of the best soundtracks ever used in a game, that's quite a bummer.

It's in the game folder. Encodes are 160k mp3.

Hells to the yeah. Can we get a poem for this release? ;)
This is why I'm here. This is what I've been waiting for. Thanks GOG!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! If I was asked to request for one gog, Interstate would be the one. Good work guys!
Is there any way to get this working on Win 7 x64 that doesn't involve murdering Explorer? D: That's a really extreme thing to do, and can cause instability or other problems.
You can spam GOG with tech support emails and hopefully they'll get around to fixing it up for Win 7 I guess lol.
Yes! Massive win. This is one of the titles I was hoping for when they announced the Activision deal. SWEET!
The amount of GOG hype around this game surprises me; was it really that big of a deal when it was originally released? I remember it being a stylish and unusual game a lot of people talked about for a while (and it obviously got solid reviews and a sequel), but I had no idea it was fondly remembered as a classic...

Try this, maybe it will work: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/seven_kingdoms_series/problem_with_inverted_colors/perm=8/#p_b_8

I'm really hyped about this because I don't ever remember a game that's like this. Sure we have games featuring cars with guns, but I always wanted to try I76 for its unique settings and features.

bansama: And yup, I have confirmed that my crashing is due to my OS. And the only fix (switching the language for non-unicode support to US English) is a fix I cannot use as it breaks most of my other programs that I need for work =/ Damn.

You could try using Microsoft AppLocale (search for it at Microsoft's download center). It allows you to specifically choose a language environment under which a non-Unicode program is to be started. I use it often for gaming purposes, although in the opposite direction - to get Japanese games to run on my German Windows installation. It's pretty much a hack, but worth a try I guess. After installing it, just run AppLocale, point it to the game executable, and choose the appropriate language.
