Today you will see a strange message on your computer screen from a mysterious being called the Guardian!

Visit Britannia once more to prove that you are a true champion of the Virtues. GOG.com and EA bring you the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/ultima_7_complete]Complete Ultima 7 to you for only $5.99!

You are the Avatar, summoned once again to Britannia, the fabled land of the monarch Lord British. When you arrive through the Moongate, you meet with your old friend Iolo. An obscene murder has just shook the town of Trinsic. You learn that a new organization, called the Fellowship, has been growing in numbers. As you investigate the mysterious murder and begin uncovering true motivations of the Fellowship, you’re also haunted by ominous warnings of the enigmatic Guardian.
Ultima 7: The Complete Edition features a complete graphical and control overhaul of the Ultima engine. The oldschool top-down Ultima view has been revamped: now the game fills the whole screen and finally you can control the whole game with a mouse. The vast populated world of NPCs with their own life schedules makes exploring the enormous area of Sosaria an engaging and epic adventure. Ultima 7 is distinguished by the total immersion and freedom in exploring and completing the game. You can pick up everything and interact with every nook and cranny out there. To eat, which is needed for survival, you need to get flour and water, mix them on a table in a bakery, than use the the newly created dough on a fireplace to bake bread. If you’re good at it, the baker might just tip you for your effort!
The tactical combat system of earlier Ultima series games has been replaced with a real-time combat system, where the AI is controlling your team and you, the player are only in control of the Avatar. You advance in experience via Ultima’s familiar level up system where once you have earned a sufficient amount of experience points you automatically gain a level.

Ultima 7: The Complete Edition consists of Ultima 7: The Black Gate, Ultima 7: The Forge of Virtue, Ultima 7: Part Two - Serpent Isle, Ultima 7: Part Two - The Silver Seed all in one package for as low as $5.99!

Well, I'm convinced. *buys*

Edit: Err, apparently not, my card gets denied. Weird. First time that's happened, and my account is filled to the brim with money. Yes, the brim. Maybe it's Odins way of telling me to play the other Ultimas I've bought first...
I had that happen with my credit card. During the "Hidden Gem a day" special in the summer, I was buying almost each special as it came out daily. At about the fifth day, my purchases suddenly were denied. I tried a second time, and ... denied.

I immediately called my credit card company and found out that yes, they'd placed a block on my purchases from GOG until they had a chance to talk to me about them to make sure they were legitimate.

Once I explained that I was doing regular business with GoG, and what I was buying at those low dollar amounts daily, they put a permanent "allow" for GoG on my account. I think I even sold the nice customer support rep on checking out GoG for themselves. ;)

SPOILER WARNING, the link below includes the ending video of Ultima 7 (base game). I think I watched it dozens of times after completing U7:

Can I still enjoy this if I've never played another Ultima game before?

Yes, I completed (complete) U7 when I had earlier played only Ultima 2 long time before, and a bit of Ultima 4. Ultima 7 is a good episode to start because it was the first Ultima to introduce "The Guardian", that red bad guy. He appears also in Ultima 8, and I presume in Ultima 9.

I recall though that somewhere in the game, probably Serpent Isle, there were references to some earlier happenings in some earlier Ultima game (something to do with the earlier life of one of the party members), but it didn't matter to me.
Now that's a release to brag about :) Bought :)
Fantastic release!! Two thumbs up for including the expansions!

KneeTheCap: Another to skip... :/

Maybe I'm getting too picky?

seaspanky: Not to be rude or anything but... I sure hope whoever gets a free code is an actual fan of this game and the series...
Huh?

RaggieRags: Is this running on DosBox or Exult?
From the description I presume it is Exult but I'd like to know as well.

You're not the only one. This just happened to me as well, and I've never had a problem here before. I'll call my bank, but I think there may be a problem with this game that seems to do this to everyone. If so, GOG, please fix this. Please!

I didn't mean to come off like a jerk, sorry if it felt that way.

I am just really surprised and excited about this release and would hope that everyone else would be too. Especially anyone who was extra "fortunate". :)
