After releasing the first and only new game on GOG.com, we're back into our standard, good, old games releases.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_2_shadow_wars]Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars is the sequel of the great game that blends the action and tactics of an RTS with an immersive role-playing experience. In the second part you have to once more fight the evil that threatens the fantasy world of Eo, choosing from 9 different classes within 3 factions. The game promises over 60 hours of gameplay and an extensive co-op mode!

Additionally to the new release, we're launching a week-long promo on Spellforce Platinum. You can grab it now, until Tuesday May 31 at 6:59 a.m. EDT, for half the price - only $4.99!
I think I'll pass.
I already have spellforce 1 Platinum and this doesn't look too different ( plus it's missing the addons )

I have $10 to spend on GOG but I already got all their $10 games that are worth having ... waiting patiently for new releases.
With the expansion I'd get it today, but I'm waitlisting it for now until my cashflow improves.

The first one's definitely worth $4.99 for those sitting on the fence. The original campaign has pretty flexible gameplay, if you prefer RPGs you can do a lot with the heroes only or you can concentrate more on base-building if that's your thing. The second campaign had a design choice I hated (you are forced to work with 2 NPCs at the start over whom you have little/no control and who have dismal AIs), and therefore didn't finish. Third campaign's all right, but does force more base-building than the first.

wy4786: wow. GR's alt got it.
A damn shame.
How sad. Now that all the furore has died down over The Witcher (I have the first part and I don't buy download games at full-price) I was hoping for some quality stuff. Don't get me wrong - Spellforce 2 is quality stuff - but I've already got the gold edition (which, incidentally, I bought here in Germany a year ago for 10 euros).

But does this mean that a trading partner has been found for the JoWood titles, or are all licensing agreements going through their Insolvenzverwalter?

LordKuruku: A damn shame.
indeed i cant imagine the horrible number of multiaccts playing that game
Why not sold an GOLD edition , but just Shadow Wars?
I'm honestly surprised that JoWood is able to make any deals at this point.

To GOG staff, do you have any further insight into the 'redownloadability' of JoWood games once they finally go kaput?

Wesker: A second expansion is due to come this year, "Faith in Destiny".
I don't expect that to ever be released.

It's said that it will be released by EA Phenomic. But it's doubtful.

JoWooD is dead, so I guess that expansions have simply decomposed.
Whilst I've already got the gold edition I'd be interested to know if GoG has getting the expansion pack on the cards or if the financial troubles at JoWood has resulted in a fracturing of the Spellforce 2 line (ie one publisher owns one bit and another the other).

It would be great if they could get both game and expansion on GoG - in addition, thus far GoG has never released an expansion pack outside of a gold edition game - so does this mean GoG might start releasing expansions for games as separate sale items on the service
Buying.
why no expansion? :(
What about the expansion Dragon Storm? If it was the gold edition I would have picked it up today. Instead its wishlisted,
Probably because the gold edition is still selling elsewhere for double this price and there's reported to be another expansion still to come.

You can actually buy the universe pack at Play for £5, so I see no reason for GOG not to include the expansions.

I already own at least five or six versions of this game, but I would still buy it again if GOG could offer me a complete package.
