The portals connecting the shattered islands of Eo start to collapse. The whole world is in panic and despair.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_2_dragon_storm]Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm is a refreshing “RPG meets Fantasy Strategy” combo, in which the RPG elements just enrich the awesome RTS experience. The GOG.com version of Dragon Storm is a stand-alone expansion to the second part of the game.

Chaos reigns over the mythical land of Eo and the Shaikans investigate the problem. Upon closer inspection they reveal ancient ruins of the long forgotten first race to walk the plains of Eo: the Shapers. Once the rulers of the world, the Shapers discovered the Essence of Magic, and the struggle to control the essence led to a civil war and the apparent extinction of their race. Shaikans awaken one of these ancients, the Creator, and now chaos spreads. The only ally the Shaikans can muster is the race that once saved Eo from the Shapers threat the Dragons, exiled long ago. This add-on expands the universe by adding the Sheikan faction, and also adds a new campaign, more loot, spells, and a complex crafting system. Revisit familiar grounds, meet friends from your past adventures in Eo (incl. The Soulbearer or Flink McWinter), and (of course) save the entire world from doom.

costanet: Let's hope this is a prelude to Gothic 3 with CP.
I remember reading on the Steam forums that JoWood didn't have the rights to distribute CPT above v 1.60. The distribution rights were bought by someone else, but I doubt that part of ti has changed. Still, Gothic 3 would be a great addition to GOG, I think.

ddmuse: JoWood is the publisher for this game, not EA.

But shadi is right: EA has set a precedent for other publishers to offer games without expansions or extras. It's bad for GOG. But everyone's too damn happy that EA is here at all to care about the possible ramifications.

Kabuto: Give me a break. The game + this expansion is $19.99 everywhere. Hell you even save a penny, get goodies and it's drm-free here. How in hell were they going to sell it for $9.99?

There's no precedent set at all. This is following the norm.
People don't come to GoG and buy games here just because they follow the norm. They come here because they go above and beyond the call of duty, and price points are a part of that. If GoG just followed the norm and had DRM and same prices as everywhere else then not very many people would come here.

You don't get an A+ in a Science class for just following the norm, you have to go above and beyond what you're supposed to do to get that grade.

I think you are confusing Kabuto's statement a bit. GOG is already not "following the norm" and going above and beyond what they are supposed to do by providing these games DRM free and with extras (in the case of this game, were talking wallpapers, artwork, avatars and a full soundtrack). They do that while still providing the games at a price that is competitive with the rest of their market. However, it is important to note that all this is "the norm" for GOG, which is the point I believe Kabuto was trying to make.

Poraro: I stand by my thoughts that many of you are just extremely spoiled and ungrateful. This is obviously the price the publisher/developer want it set at and GOG.com don't have much of a case if this is the price it is sold at elsewhere.
Yup, we are all ungrateful. We should thank GoG for trying to make money off us, and buy every single thing they put out no matter what because we owe it to them... right?

Don't be stupid. GoG is a business and if they release something people feel is overpriced it's not selfish or spoiled to not buy it and leave feedback as to why you're not buying it. GoG's job is to convince me to give them money, I don't owe them a damn thing and I certainly don't have any reason to be grateful to them for trying to make a buck off me.

apoc17: If you don't like the price the better way to show it its do don't buy the game. Stop reapeting too expensive 30 times in the same forum page....
no, saying nothing and not giving negative feedback is a horrible idea .Otherwise it would just be a thread of "wow awesome! bought! Thanks gog you rule!!!!" How else are they supposed to know the reason for some people not buying it?

You are absolutely right, people should complain when GOG screws up, especially since GOG actually listens to complaints, unlike other services in this market. However, in this case, it really seems like the complaints are completely unjustified, when you consider that the price here is exactly the same as it is at all of GOG's competitors, but with more stuff for that price.

Poraro: Stop being ungrateful and stupid, people. You aren't entitled to get this added to Shadow Wars for free no matter how much you cry. Stop trying to rip a good site off and help them out a bit.
And you better dont get offending. I think its overpriced and would rather get Spellforce Universe retail for much lower price. My 2 cents - live with it.
These discussions aside, almost all of the reviews of this title are written about the price and almost nothing else.

Wishlisted... or to be precise, will be wishlisted, 'cause I have no time to update my wishlist now (as in today).

Like I said earlier - if you market at the budget prices you are going to get the scrimpers ;)
Hopefully these kneejerk reactions will be pushed away by some proper game reviews rather than people complaining about - shock horror - paying for a product and service ;)

I noticed that as well, and I find it quite annoying. I don't mind people voicing their complaints about the price-- they are entitled to their opinion, after all-- but I would like to see what people's opinion of the game itself is, rather than their thoughts on the game's price. I can read reviews on other sites, sure, but I would also like some GoGers' opinions on the game (not the price) as well.
Ouch. $10 for what is basically an expansion pack? Whatever. It's standalone, so it's the Age of Wonders 2/Shadow Magic scenario of the base game becoming irrelevant unless you really want to play the campaign. And besides, don't JoWood games go on sale like once a month anyways at this point?

Yeah, GOG staff should wipe the reviews, because they are not reviews.
I don't mean to sound like a fanboy but it's discouraging to see every thread filled with the same ol' complaints, when in fact GOG has one of the best services out there. Just look at the Staycation - for the love of god you can purchase a year of non-stop gaming for less than $100.

Yet every thread it's the same old stuff:

"I found it cheaper on ebay." OK, buy it on ebay.

"No expansion, you are the devil, GOG!" They're doing their best, geez...

"Not another action/RPG/strategy/whatever release again!" Come on, there are so many titles on GOG and more every week. Chill out.

I agree. The reviews should be short info about "Is this game good?" to help people decide wheter buy it or not.

These reviews are just pure garbage from the people who havn't eveny bought the game.
