You must succeed where the greatest of heroes has failed.

It’s been a while since there has been a new RPG on GOG.com shelves, but today we offer [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/soulbringer]Soulbringer on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Let’s conduct a little thought excercise here: If you were an average person living in the mystical world of Rathenna and your father was killed and your uncle Adrus turned out to know a lot about magic, ancient warriors, and demons, would you rather:

a) ignore your crazy uncle, live on a farm, raise a family, and live a long and boring life or,
b) learn magic, learn sword-wielding, awaken your powers inherited from your past lives, and slay ancient demons, preserving the world for all?

Those of you who decided that option “a” sounds a little too dull have a chance to jump into the fantasy world of Soulbringer, an action RPG in the spirit of other classic hack and slash games of the era.

Soulbringer is one of those “hidden gems” that we love to bring up to the surface here on GOG. It was buried in an avalanche of other fantastic cRPGs released in the year 2000 (Diablo II, Icewind Dale, and Baldur’s Gate II all came out that year!), but if it had been released in a different year, it would likely also be one of the classic RPGs we all know and love. The things that make a well-crafted piece of action fantasy gaming, like a unique combat system, well-constructed magic, a long and involving storyline, and the indefinable ‘joy factor’ are all here and make Soulbringer the perfect addition to your fantasy/RPG shelf.

Soulbringer is the kind of RPG that offers a lot of action and fun and is definitely worth buying on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Titanium: It looks just the right kind of graphics that might have tons of compatibility issues.
There's just something about those late '90s/ early 2000s 3D graphics that modern machines don't like. ;) Z-buffer, 16-bit, etc.?
Have a physical copy of this floating around somewhere...never really did get into it (**looks at his backlog of 100's of games**)
I got this game bundled with Planescape:Torment

I played it a bit a really enjoyed, needless to say however, that Planescape was the primary reason for buying and it took up most of my attention.

A worthy addition to GOG

SimonG: Btw, this isn't even an Eidos game. So that was really unexpected.

And another reason we need more releases.

Fever_Discordia: Not only is it not Eidos (or Trilobyte or Team 17) the dev / pub line reads 'Infogrames SA / FunBox' - what kind of stange licensing shinanigans made this end up as FunBox and not Atari? Odd!
Looks interesting BTW, I've wishlisted it
The original Deus Ex also came out in 2000 - year 2000 fans!
I'm guessing that Funbox now owns the rights to Gremlin Interactive games, since they also are listed as publisher for Normality and Realms of the Haunting.
never heard of this game. will probably pick it up some time since quite a few people here seem to be fond of it.
Decided to give this ago as I cant honestly remember much about it and my game hstory goes back to the ZX80/ ZX81 days so its quiet extensive

Saw this on Youtube and it made me buy it

Very gory in 1 fight of this video - blood everywhere

Thanks GOG looks a very interesting game
It is because of releases like this that my back log of games to play is enormous. Good release.
I too got this attached to my Planescape. Never played it though.

I'll grab this either when I am in the mood or there is a sale.
Looks nasty, in a good way. Wishlisted for now.
Have on CD already, never played it, might get the GOG version too from a promo sale.

(story of my life nowadays, it seems)

perfect to play in calm winter evenings... :)
Great release GOG team!
Looks like a "must play!" or at least "must try!" for me. Thank you!
I got this on disc back in the day, and remember enjoying it a lot... Sadly, I stopped playing it for some reason around the mid-game part, and never got back to it. Mind, I do occasionally think of it and mean to give it another go, but I've always got too many other games on the go... Will probably pick it up one day in a sale mind, so that I can free up another smidgeon of space in my games rack.
Revenats

edit: Now fixed. :)
