Not my type of game. Think I will have to pass. Not that I am knocking this game, but it seems like an odd release after the "coming soon" games and the Atari announcement. Seems like this game is just a filler. Whats up with that GOG?
Yeah true, Navagon. Honestly, I wasn't really thinking of any games in particular when I said that. Haven't got the money at the moment to buy any until next month anyway. Was mainly responding to tacitus.
Suppose I should have quoted and clarified so it didn't seem like I was saying that in relation to 'certain' games. ;) So, I was mainly speaking in general for the future.

there's a national mourning in this week in Poland.

I was interested in this game when it was on sale for a dirt cheap price elsewhere, but then I realised that when I have a pile of unplayed games to finish the last thing i need is an FPS game that's about patience, waiting, going as slowly as possible and trial and error gameplay. ;-p
PS/ I think all these sales have finally made me too picky about games. Because i'm resisting AvP Classic (at only $1.99) and all the commandos games at a stupidly low price, because I have too many games to play, and I doubt I'll ever get around to them.
Games or deals are going to have to be REALLY special from now on...

A good game, but didn't expect to have it a GoG approval. The protagonist is an unlikable bastard with no personality, the script is dumb(if someone lolled during him whispering "follow me" in creepy pervert voice, welcome to the club), and the language of the Russians and Germans are often off the actual translation.
Other than that, beautiful reconstruction of Berlin, kinda nice OST,fun levels, Multiplayer-option with a constant server, really intelligent enemies, and well sniping.
I just wish they had added a silencer on the sniping rifle. It's hell of annoying just to shoot one enemy and everyone gets suddenly alarmed. And it's a stealth game about sniping. Pfft.

Not my cup of tea so money saved this week. Although with so many games with gog i have plenty to catch up on looking at beyond divinity.

*nod nod* That could easily explain why this title turned up today--- relatively recent release requiring little/no tweaking from the "emergency backup games" pile. As they're Polish, it's reasonable to expect that schedules might have gone out the window a bit as a result of this event.
Same as some of the other people, I bought this for $4.99 on steam during a sale a while back. I really wish you had some kind of list that had upcoming future releases. I would rather have waited to buy this from you DRM free than from steam.
This game BTW is pretty good, though a bit dated. I only ran into one bug with it. It can't load a save game from the main menu without crashing. The workaround is to simply start a new game, then from the in game menu pick load and it will load fine.

You're supposed to time your shots with environmental sounds; thunder, tank noises, artillery fire etc.
Good game, it's nice to see more Rebellion titles here...

Indeed, nice that you guys remembered about this. This could have affected the releases a bit, if GOG programmers are really mostly based in Poland.
Quick search:
"The impact of the tragic plane crash has been huge on Polish society. The period of national mourning has been extended from ending on Saturday 18:00 to midnight on Sunday night."
"Leaders from many states worldwide, including the Presidents of Russia, France, the US, are expected to attend the state funeral of President Kaczynski. Warsaw has been bidding farewell to President since April 13."

Oh, izzat so? Hell, have to replay the whole game then. Thanks alot.
I was under the impression that Sniper was yet another generic shooter (being developed by Rebellion tends to have that result), but some of the professional reviews have actually been quite positive so I guess I was wrong there. Might wishlist it some day...

Yes, this is a good game. The enemy AI is incredible. :)
Ah, excellent. :D I bought this game dirt cheap off stem during the holiday sale, easily the most pressure filled experience I'd ever had.
Compatibility wise, I only had it crash on Steam in Vista on my laptop with a GMA 950 when I took extremely long shots, and something else was going boom at the same time. I usually remedied that by simply firing from a different position next time.
So yeah, a must buy for anyone who loves both Medal of Honor and/or Deus Ex.

Out of curiosity, why Deus Ex?
