WHERE IS MY ATARI GAME GOG IS SLACKING WAAH WAAAHH WAAAAAHHHH
i also bought this a couple of weeks ago on steam for 2 €. Haven't even installed it. Waiting until i have no more shooters left...
I hope some $5.99 games come out more often from gog. Not that this game might not be worth $9.99 as it is 2005, but it seems more games have been set in the upper price range lately (well, it seems so anyway).

Faithful: it seems more games have been set in the upper price range lately (well, it seems so anyway).

Not really, I'm still amazed that most (all?) Activision games are only $5.99.

GOG.com: OK, so you can consistent pop headshots with a sniper rifle in any online FPS, at any range... But does that make you 1337 enough to handle a game with ballistics more realistic than just point-and-click?

Ooh, that's a challenge I am tempted to take!
I've generally dismissed sniper games in the past, they have a trend of being more than a bit shoddy. A good challenging stealth game could be something I would be after, if this does it right, solution found.
Bought this game few years ago, love it love it. Lost count of how many times I have played it. On the basis of how much I enjoyed Sniper Elite I purchased another sniper game, I think called WW2 Sniper, absolute rubbish.
Perhaps the graphics are not as crisp and bright as some would like, but a mucky rubble strewn Berlin seems ok to me. You always have your sniper rifle and a silenced pistol with you, and can pick up machine guns and ammo from your kills. Limited ammo for your rifle, no more than 150 rounds.
Grenades, med kits, the odd anti tank weapon, and prob the most useful of all, the Tripwire Grenades. In some areas of the game you cannot survive without them. You definitely need them to cover your back.
Most of the time you are working on your own, though occasionally you are working with the resistance. But basically they tell you what they want doing and you go and do it.
They have a wonderful bullet cam, tracking your shot to its target. A good head shot gives you some satisfaction!
Its not all action all of the time, sneaky is a good description. Keeping your head down as you can hear the enemy closing in.
Buy it, its brilliant!
Looks interesting, wanted to buy this on stream when it was on sale but the steam sale only had a censored version here in Germany

michaelleung: Graphics look like ass though. For a 2005 game I'd have expected better.

I thought they were decent enough. It scales well with modern hardware even up to my usual res of 1920x1080.

whodares2: Dammit you guys! A little advanced warning would earned you guys a sale.
I just bought this game on steam a week or so ago when it was $1.99.

It's not the first time Steam have done a sale just before GOG have launched a title on here. Valve are not above the odd dirty little trick.

GOG really does need to populate their "Coming Soon" area. Part of the problem is that even if it was announced there, most of the time there is nothing in there, so I get in the habit of not checking out coming soon. Even it isn't really a coming soon, but more of "we are working on these" would actually be nicer.
I too bought sniper elite on steam in the middle of march.
I am disappointed.
Ugh sorry gog, i already got the game from the Steam holiday sale, i honestly though it wouldn't be released here. Sniper Elite is good but it involves trial and error gameplay, also i find the game too hard on anything but cadet difficulty, also the game is clunky like for example the camera which i do not like.

Ha ha, I bought it for 99¢ on Steam during the Holiday sale!

I think there's two ways of looking at things:
1) There's the mysteriousness of not knowing what game could come out on a Tuesday and Thursday. This might be a bonus to some.
2) Having the coming soon section populated will tell people what to expect release wise in the coming weeks. So, they can decide whether to buy the game here or elsewhere. However, this has the added side-effect of them possibly announcing a game and not being able to get it to work, leaving unhappy people. So, this may be a bonus to others.
Personally, I like the mysteriousness, but it would also be nice to know what's in the pipe-line by keeping the coming soon page more populated and up to date. Would it be wise to suggest this in the appropiate thread?
However, I remember a staff member saying they have games kept in reserve without mentioning them in case something goes wrong with a planned release.

DavidGil: I think there's two ways of looking at things:

Well we know we're getting Outcast and a couple of other titles have been confirmed too. So the only reason for not including them in the upcoming section is if something has gone south with the Atari deal and it's not looking certain enough for GOG to be able to commit to that. While that could be true, personally I just think that GOG jumped the gun with their announcement to make more of their presentation.
