custardcream: ive still got all the runaway games boxed.
they would be installed still but for the fact ive never found a way to get them working on vista with the latest graphics cards/drivers.

GOG version works on vista
I've got it already, but in an ugly box and on 4 different disks, i think i'm going to buy it again sometime, just to download the awesome soundtrack.
The trannys were really funny in it. It was a fun game. I also just bought the second one over Christmas break, but I can't finish it because it keeps crashing when I reach this one part. It's right after a video. So just for that, the first one is better, I was able to finish it.
Wow another supprise release fantastic. Although i am not into point and click adventures for people who love them this is excellant news.
Does this game include the French translation? I know GoG doesn't officially offer games in other languages than English, but since FlatOut surprisingly included the French translation, I guess it's not as black and white...
excellent game ! I bought it and finished it, so i won't buy it again on GOG, but kudos to you for this excellent release! Hoping it will make this game known by more people than now, because it deserves it.
And, to answer some posts, no, I didn't find any enigma to be illogical. Well, at least it has nothing to do with the kind of enigmas offered by Day of the Tentacle, for example (remember the hamster and the time travels to wash a sweater for him? :D). Don't misunderstand me, i love DotT, but Runaway's enigmas are far more logical.

I think Runaway give this feeling of being less logical because the same action will yield different result depending on what you did before, even if it's not related. For example, in the first scene, I guessed I had to use the sprinkler. I had everything, but I didn't read (a second time) the label on the medication. Because of that, even if I was doing the correct action, it just didn't work. Another example is finding the wig. The first time you look in the bag, you don't find a wig. But after you find the head, if you look into this same bag again, then you will find the wig. To me, this kind of gameplay gives a feeling of being more about following a correct sequence of actions than logically guessing what to do.

Hmm, that sounds... stupid.
I always wanted to try out Runaway. Great release GOG!

The game is full of that kind of stuff. Very poor game design in general, I still don't understand why it is so popular.

Even if the game has a confusing gameplay, which is kind of ironic because this design was probably about reducing confusion by avoiding inventory cluttering, it still has other qualities, at least for some people.
In my case, I wanted to introduce point and click adventure games to my mother and this is a game I could use for that (that is if it was available in French). The graphics look good and the presentation is not too wacky (she's not a fan of absurd humor). As she doesn't have any a priori about point and click gameplay, maybe this could work for her.
