iWi: Yes, we would love to have major releases each week - by major I mean stuff that caters to 90% of gamers, but it does take time to put such deals together. We are continuously working on it and you will see the really big things coming shortly ☺

I would expect so, since GOG.com's first anniversary is getting close... September, isn't it?
I can't wait to see what you guys (and girls) are cooking up. ;-)
I'm all for diversity, this argument about 'big' games is entirely subjective. Was Halo the 'big' game for me on the Xbox? No it was KOTOR. I'm glad that GOG put out smaller games from time to time as some people never would have played these games first time round but might now given the low price. I know I would never have bought Evil Genius at retail but I did here and by god I love it.
If there is a new release that you dont like please remember there were many more that you did and others didn't.
I for one also welcome the diversity of games on GOG, not just AAA super-uber-classic cult titles, but potential underdogs and niche titles as well, that we may never have heard of before. I don't think this particular game is for me though, but I am sure someone here will like it indeed.
Edit:
I realize I pretty much re-stated what Delixe just said, turns out he posted while I wrote my message. Sorry about that.

+1 for underdogs and forgotten classics.
Though it's a tricky balance, walking the line between a good mix, an the classics being buried by all the crud.
Lots of the classics, we've already played them, they are on other services, etc... but the underdogs and hidden gems, those are of more interest to me.
(for example, like everyone else i'd love to see the lucasarts adventure games on here... but tbh i've already played them all, and i have quite a few of them already. Hostile Waters, i'd never heard of that and i loved it. )

iWi: Thank you all for the critic and also for the kind words - we really appreciate it. It does give us additional motivation to deliver the games everybody is waiting for (including us :)
When I was reading this thread I thought, that it was worth to release Republic the Revolution just to see the comments and what controversy it has created, but kidding aside ... Republic the Revolution is a good game - yes, there is a lot of people who will not play it (including me here), but it was big at the release and definitely innovative with a lot of hype around. That's why we have decided to put it up on GOG.com and as per the posts we have made at least some of you happy.

Important thing however is to ask the questions – how many really big titles there is? I mean games, which will be like by vast majority of gamers – 20-30-40, maybe less. I think the beauty of gaming is the diversity of taste and thus games catering to those tastes. We see our role here, as the selector of quality and caterer for all tastes.
There of course is hell lot of crappy games, which you can spot from a distance. That’s what you will not see on GOG.com (or at least you will see it very very rarely, as we can go wrong from time to time, can’t we?). Still, I am sure that once we will put a real crap out most of you will let us know about it in a very direct way and we will be able to correct our wrongdoing ;)
Once again – we really appreciate both the critic and the kind words. Keep on ☺

Thanks for the kind answer. That'll motivate me into buying a few games when my birthday (in a month and half) comes.
But I wanted to ask, is there a reason that the "Upcoming" section is empty? Is that to make a surprise everytime? I'm not necessarily against the idea, but I always like to get an idea (even a slight idea) of what I'm waiting for.
I appreciate that GoG release game I completely ignored or wasn't aware of their existence at that time. I jumped into the Rebellion adventure because the concept is something I've been hoping for years and I'm not afraid about complicated games.
The main problem is, good games sometimes aren't well known, same with books or movies. The most advertised get the more attention. Each time I discuss with "casual" gamers about niche/average graphics/complicated games people are indifferent because they never heard of it. Recalling the most absurd thing I ever heard : "If you don't have games your friends plays, I don't see the point". A few individual advices have far less value than a horde of teasing advertisement.

I hope my comments didn't sound negative; the fact that the hype killed my enjoyment years ago is no reflection on the actual game as it exists. It is actually a good game. As it happens, I've bought it, have been enjoying the soundtrack here at work (easily worth more than $10 by itself), and will likely play the game when I get a little free space in my gaming backlog. So, you can count me as one of the ones who are happy you have added this title.
What's the soundtrack like? More than one have said it's worth the ten bucks alone.

Very soviet :)

Here's the Music 4 Games review, on the occasion of it's nomination for a BAFTA award:

I will only add that the soundtrack for this game compliments the game in a deeper way than any other game I've played. It's emotional resonance is all the more remarkable given that it is a strategy game. While most strategy games give you a general sense of the historical period and possibly the area of the globe, this soundtrack really gives the game a sense of the place.
Love it! The music goes right up my alley.
On my wishlist, since the game's concept and depth are not exactly the sort of thing I'm into right now, but if the game ends up in a promo or if I get better financially I'll fetch it.

Indeed there are some surprises and new announcements coming and we do not want to spoil them :)

Team has stated previously it's largely due to the testing process -- some games can take months to "fix", so it's better if it comes out of nowhere than the game sitting there for potentially months on end (as used to happen). :)

+1
I bought Republic some times ago and it's aged very well. It's still a great game.
