Good game, but I never played it all the way through. To many other games nipping at my heels. The one thing I remember is that the rallies are very repetitious and it gets annoying, trying to strengthen your ties with your fellow man is pretty tough. Maybe that's why I stopped? It was either that or the game progressed to slowly for my taste.
I'm plainning on buying it again to support GOG. Thanks GOG! You da man!

For someone who has played Floor 13 (released by virgin-mastertronic back in 1991 or something), would you say this game is similar but with graphics?

I remember it being hyped to high heaven, which was also it's downfall : Overhyped games always dissapoint...
When I got this game (about 5-6 years back) I was pretty hyped too...
Just a warning : It's extremely slow, and very very hard...
But it's a great game, which had bad reviews because of the horrid interface and bugs (besides the ridiculous learning curve and slowness)...
Not for everyone, but if you manage to get into it, you're in for a great time...
Cheers GOG, and the weird part is, I was talking about this game to a friend yesterday, praying it would someday make it's way here...
This is what you call a pleasant surprise :D
Bad UI, many bugs and a steep learning curve. All these complaints were made for Gothic (and Gothic 2) and look the Gothic forum now (you'll mostly find praise there). This should be enough to prove that a flawed game can still be good.
And no, I never heard of it before. I wasn't really interested in PC gaming at this period (my computer could barely run anything that wasn't 3 years old at the time). The concept is nice, though.

The game certainly had a few issues, but I still really enjoyed it, if only for the subject matter. I liked holding demonstrations, following potential enemies, etc. Just not much else out there like it.

*deleted annoying triple post*
81RED: Oh, I remember this.
EDGE (elitist UK gamer mag) ran a monthly series on this while it was in production - featuring the ups & downs in the life of Demis Hassabis, founder of Elixir studios.
Ahah! that was his name... i remember reading sooooo much about him. He was like 18 at the time, right?
Personally I loved EDGE, if only for their articles about forgotten classics, and their awesome cover designs.
(and that they were the only place that gave Jedi Outcast the 5/10 it deserved).
PS/ am i the only one having problems getting posts to show up? it only started today...
PPS/ and now it has posted the post that i posted a few minutes ago, but didn't show up.. so i have a double post.
PPPS/ make that triple!! ????

Yeah this probably files with many other games who can best be described as not mainstream popular, but that have attracted a loyal fanbase.
Death Rally would be great for example, I loved that game. Most of my friends thought it was profoundly boring and only played it for the (at the time) nice graphics and a small amount of gore.

Personally I could never forgive EDGE for their shameful treatment of the Sega Saturn. They showed no journalistic integrity and it was obvious they never even played the Saturn games they reviewed. If they were not on the Sony payroll then they certainly acted like it.

Thank you all for the critic and also for the kind words - we really appreciate it. It does give us additional motivation to deliver the games everybody is waiting for (including us :)
When I was reading this thread I thought, that it was worth to release Republic the Revolution just to see the comments and what controversy it has created, but kidding aside ... Republic the Revolution is a good game - yes, there is a lot of people who will not play it (including me here), but it was big at the release and definitely innovative with a lot of hype around. That's why we have decided to put it up on GOG.com and as per the posts we have made at least some of you happy.
Yes, we would love to have major releases each week - by major I mean stuff that caters to 90% of gamers, but it does take time to put such deals together. We are continuously working on it and you will see the really big things coming shortly ☺
Important thing however is to ask the questions – how many really big titles there is? I mean games, which will be like by vast majority of gamers – 20-30-40, maybe less. I think the beauty of gaming is the diversity of taste and thus games catering to those tastes. We see our role here, as the selector of quality and caterer for all tastes.
There of course is hell lot of crappy games, which you can spot from a distance. That’s what you will not see on GOG.com (or at least you will see it very very rarely, as we can go wrong from time to time, can’t we?). Still, I am sure that once we will put a real crap out most of you will let us know about it in a very direct way and we will be able to correct our wrongdoing ;)
Once again – we really appreciate both the critic and the kind words. Keep on ☺
