Mentalepsy: So, the demo of this game was lousy. In what ways does the full game improve after the demo ends?

If the demo was just the first level or so, then it should be lousy, that's just the exposition part of the game. The game improves dramatically as you unlock new powers and levels. Eventually you gain the ability to enter other people's minds and have unique adventures in worlds that are physical representations of the person's personality. The insane security guard's and mutant lungfish's minds are my most favorite.

You gain new powers (jumps, attacks, rolling around on a ball, etc..).
Every level has a different art-style, different goal, different gameplay mechanics, different feel.
The story and world becomes awesome.

mine too but i would add the toreador, those three are just fantastic.

This is fantastic news! A work of genius, the controls can be a bit wonky at times, but that is the case with most console ports, the humor, oh the humor in this game!
If I didn't have it on disc already or if there were more extras on gog I would add this to my collection immediately!

That... was one of the game's crowning moments of awesome. Oh, I loved that sequence so much.
I still have my PS2 version, so I don't think I'll be getting the GOG version just yet, but... someday.

Bought it at retail when initially released, and now buying it again because the game (and GOG!) deserves the support.
Also buying a few copies for friends and family!

I already have it on PS2, so I won't be buying it again though...
