Most squad-level tactics games are pretty serious, encouraging you to think fast and not get your men killed. Police Quest: SWAT 1 and 2 make all of them seem casual.

Police Quest: SWAT 1 is an interactive cinematic adventure and SWAT 2 is an isometric-view real-time tactics game. Initially released as part of the Police Quest series, SWAT eventually spawned a spin-off series of its own. Both games are very focused on following proper procedure - you can't just waltz in, shoot everything that moves and then sort out who's who. Even failing to call for the suspect to surrender before arresting him will look bad to the public and in your files. A Police officer's job is a tough one so don't expect these games to cut you any slack.
On the other hand, SWAT 2 lets you play on the other side - as the leader of a radical left-wing terrorist group. Don't think this means you can do whatever you want, though.
Now put your serious face on and discover how real a game can be.

this is great news

Hopefully this means that we can get Swat 3 and 4 over on GoG.com pretty soon - The best games of the series!

SWAT 1 isn't.
This is awesome news. GoG... you bloody beauty!

I have fond memories of multiplayer coop where I would equip my squad with gas masks and gas grenades and the other player would not....

I wouldn't wait for Swat 4. Didn't it have this "dynamic advertising" shite? Hardly in line with GOGs guidelines. But if they could get it without it, it be even more epic ;)!

Bah, sorry about that. I easily get confused with the PQ series and the sentence above was in the rough version, before I could double-check. I forgot to fix it before clicking save... :P
Never got a chance to play the first game and sold off my copy of the second one years back so I'm rather keen to play them both.

I would love it if GOG got SWAT 3 as well!

In the mean time let me get back to SWAT 4. Still a great game after all these years.

Hehe, I can understand that. I loved SWAT 1, despite how limited it is. Once you've gone through the three missions that's about it (unless you restart with a different career path completely, which isn't overly worth it).
Damn, just right now when I decided to stop buying any games until exam session is over you're doing such a thing to me :(

This goes on my wish list of course :)
Hmmm... neat. I never actually played any of the SWAT games. Not gonna buy these immediately but I will grab them when the mood strikes me.

Now give me my Zork Nemesis!
