With today's release, our collection of games from the Patrician series is complete. If you like crunching numbers and a good challenge, you can't pass up on these two titles, for just $5.99.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/search/patrician]Patrician is a series of historical trading simulation games, set in the 14th century, in the times of the Hanseatic League, or Hansa. Both were highly praised for their complex economic model and believable historical backdrop. The goal in both games is to become Alderman - the leader of the Hanse. To achieve this goal, you must amass a fortune and earn, or buy, political power. This in turn can be achieved in a variety of ways, from simple trade, through hiring pirates to thwart your competition's efforts, to dealing in piracy yourself. Both games are quite challenging and require some micromanagement but, for an economic sim fan, that should be a good thing.

GOG team gave a clue about it by changing the forum "Patrician 3" into "Patrician". :-)
Anyway, really neat addition! I've never played Patrician 1, as I couldn't find it in English, but now I have a chance to do so.

Rather enjoyed 'Patrician 2'. Been a few years since I played it.
Not had the time to play 'Patrician 3' yet after grabbing it in the Strategy First promo a while back. But it is waiting there for me.
Thinking about this pack just to see how the game evolved through the years, not an immediate grab now, but possibly later.

To be fair you should add the information that
Patrician 2 + its Addon "Aufschwung der Hanse" = Patrician 3
In Germany there is only Patrician 2 Gold and the real Patrician 3 is in the making.
Furthermore I wonder why the Arkane Studios are mentioned as the Developers, this was a pure Ascaron series.

Must be a typo :p Arkane had nothing to do with Patrician series. I'm sure they'll fix it as soon as they notice their mistake.

There even was the Patrician II logo left intact in Patrician III's introductory FMV.

Most likely because they released it in 2003, while the Addon was released in Germany 2001. It should be quite though to sell an addon for a 3 year old niche market game. ;)
So they probably just bundled it and sold it as a sequel.
If you love Patrician 2 (aka 3) than I would recommend this site: http://www.rjosephs.de/patrizier.html
The finest strategies and documentation all around this great game. It's in German, but some material should still be helpful.
The true sequel that I mentioned will be released next summer. While Ascaron is gone, the people behind the project remained the same. And so will the game remain the same too, with all the essential parts and just modernized & enhanced. :)

So this is effectively Patrician 1 & "3" (minus the expansion pack) cheaper than 3 by itself?
Well that makes it a pretty sweet deal then.
