Fond of detective novels and movies? Ever wanted to know what it's like to be a private investigator? Here's your chance.
The [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/tex_murphy_1_2]Tex Murphy 1 + 2 package consists of the adventure games Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum. Like all titles of the Tex Murphy series, the story takes place on a ruined Earth , specifically in post-World War III San Francisco. You play the role of a by-the-book and not too lucky private investigator, always low on cash and knee-deep in debt, willing to take any case to make ends meet. In Mean Streets, a beautiful woman hires you to solve an unsolvable murder case, when all evidence points to suicide. Martian Memorandum, on the other hand, starts off with a call from a client, hiring you to find his missing daughter and "something else"...

Lots of pixel-ated erotica shots for this game(s?). I'm surprised our country did not ban it.
Sounds interesting, but maybe later.
I've only played Under A Killing Moon and Overseer. So I'll need to try these.
The link "Tex Murphy series" is broken. Its value is 'http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/publisher/Wordplay LLC"' but should be 'http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/publisher/Wordplay LLC' (note the double quote in the first link)

See, this is more like it. Two games, and for just $5.99. I'm definitely getting these one day soon.
I Remember Under a Killing Moon and the two later titles. Didn't knew he went back even further. Seems like a good deal even though it seems to appeal a lot to the fantasies of young teenagers at the time :)

FYI - Tex Murphy Overseer is basically a remake of Mean Streets.
Haha... Glad to see you guys have a sense of humor.
One of the screenshots read "Tell me about... GOG.com"
I've never played any of the Tex Murphy games but always wanted to. I'm glad you got these on here.
And yet another no brainer. SOLD.
Yes !!
whoah ! this took me by surprise ... I loved Mean Streets when it came out - it was the latest greatest back then etc. I'll just buy the first one at least for nostalgia's sake... thanks guys for giving me this again.
I got Mean Streets off an abandonware site aaaaages ago, but I didn't have the manual. I remember feeling disappointed, because it seemed kinda good. I'm glad that GOG is around, as now I have the manual I actually KNOW what I'm doing.
It's a great game. Thanks GOG :).
never heard of this series but I might check it out sometime, maybe if it goes on sale
