I think this game looks boring and I figure I'll never have time for it with the amount of time I could put into the first two game in the MoO series.
Yet, all of the negative reaction now makes me more curious about the game than I otherwise would have been. Stupid brain.
All you need to know about Moo3 is that its official website has not been updated in 7 years.
Ugh, I am tempted to buy this, simply because I love these kinds of games and the interface has that retro-futurism look to it. But I will wait until tomorrow to see which game is being released.
How does this compare to Romance of the 3 Kingdoms 11?
On the bright side, it's better 1+2 are 5.99 and this 9.99 instead of the other way around, even though that would make more sense. ;)

kalirion: Honestly, given that CD Projekt are gamers, and almost certainly are aware of the hate this game has received in gaming circles, why did they choose it for release?
Could it be something imposed by Atari as a part of their deal? Maybe the $9.99 price point is them warning people away :)

complete the trilogy. some fans might want to own this.
wow. i think i never saw so much hatred at a new game released here as i see now. I mean pitch forks and fire hate.
It's going to be a LONG time before another title gets a more negative reception here on GOG. Unless they are readying Battlecruiser 3000 AD for release.

It doesn't. Two completely different kinds of games, I suppose (and I just started playing RotTK11).
US$10? Is it April 1st again already? No...? Maybe it's supposed to be "10E-4" but the current iteration of the website doesn't support scientific notation...? I mean, even then it will be mildly over-priced, I think.
But this release raises an important omission by GOG: we need negative ratings!
Edit: Maybe also a list of worst-sellers...? I mean, that's one list MoO3 will certainly top!

They're totally different. Can't really compare.

Navagon: Over 100 ratings and it still has two stars. Damn. People aren't too happy with this one.

The GOG ratings system only seems to work in cases of very poor games being released. They end up with 1.5-2.5 stars.
Everything else gets 4, even if mediocre, 4.5 if fairly good, and 5 if at all good.

Very true. But I put that down more to those rating the games, myself.

Yeah, I heard that one was unplayable at launch, but that Take 2 wouldn't take no for an answer, kicked/locked Derek Smart out of the office and went gold with it. I was waiting to buy it until the patches made it stable. Still waiting. I don't even think the game was pirated!

I'm thinking of getting the first two, but not the third. Have Galactic Civilisations 2 to keep me happy in its place.
But if they wanted the series to be completed then I'm still waiting on the completion of the Myst series catalogue. I'm a huge fan and even though I have those games I only have them on CD, I'd buy them again just to have them without the CD.
Also, and this is the kicker, it sucks that they didn't include any goodies for those games /grumble
Now I remember one of the most frustrating things about the game. You can go through and set production for each base, which can take an hour if you have a large empire. But when you save, it does not save any of that data. It all just resets. I almost smashed my computer.
