Not interested in this one specifically, but happy to see another title released :)

Qbix: Just got it. I noticed that the forum on the my account page is the Lords of Magic forum.
Are they related ?
avatar
DrIstvaan: They are, at least there is a promo video for LoM in LotR2's main menu ;-).
They'll probably change the forum name to "Lords series".

But both games are vastly different :P

Shorack: still wondering: does this game support lan play? :)
avatar
DrIstvaan: Well, there IS multiplayer in both games, but I think it's serial connection at most.
TCP/IP is for Internet play, IIRC.

Yes, but no internet play is okay imo :p
anyhow found answer, according to gamespy, there is lan play ^^

Yes it does support LAN, or to be specific, an emulated Nullmodem connection that is using LAN as a medium.
Yes! Thanks GoG, I had the second game but the cd was scratched beyond salvation. Didn't even think about it, bought it, downloading.
Everyone can use the wonderful GameRanger program to play online.
SOLD!
Rebellion sure rocks in all kind of ways here at GOG. :)

I love your avatar. :)
Sorry, just had to say that.
What!? Another RTS? AAAAahhhhh! :-)
We got an FPS just recently and when some started complaining it wasn't too good or old, I figured GOG might have put it up to break the trend of RTS's they'd been going through recently.
It's good we have variety though. Sometimes I'm up for breaking my brain trying to figure strats or tactics out and others I just want to shoot stuff at random.
Both and the Expansion for 5.99? WOW, thanks GOG team!
Already have that game but I'll buy it again from here since it always makes problems with the copy protection. So my chance to play a great game again, and at a really low price. Many thanks, GOG!
Instant buy, dang you are getting all my money!

Actually, it's a mix of turn-based empire (heavily micro)management and real-time battles.
It's a real good old game, five stars.
In my opinion this game was largely replaced by Knights of Honor, which is basically the same game revamped and all over Europe, but it's still ultra-buyable.
I'm still recovering from the shock, I never hoped to see this game here.

Hmmm. I wouldn't say Knights of Honor is the same game, as that one traded resource and peasant micromanagement for more variety in the buildings and a better diplomacy system. However, they indeed share some similarities; the battles are very similar, and there are regions in both games, complete with destroyable spots and extendable castles.
But you're right, the LotR pack is still ultra-buyable ;-).
