It is 1964 and the first World War still rages. After half a century of battles in Europe, you're the one that wants to end it.

Furthermore, both factions have put their armies on the stock exchange to finance the war. You are placed in this grim, gritty reality, in the shoes of a grizzled veteran, who's known nothing but war for his entire life - Lt. James Anderson. Your mission - to stop the East from developing a weapon of mass destruction.

Yep, a bit more of an oldie.
Didn't get much community love from when it was first mentioned, but I guess some of us are going to find it interesting. As I said somewhat before, it's not that it's bad, it's just well... one you'd pick up when your done with all the other fps games.
On a positive note, it's in the more difficult side. And considering how easy most FPS games are, I'll count that as a bonus.

It got a 7 on Gamespot. Well, it IS Gamespot, but it's one of the few game sites that has been around before the millenium, so obviously they reviewed this game.

Any particular reason? I didn't have a chance to finish it, but I played for a longer while and, despite the dated visuals, I enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great, especially if you watch the news broadcasts which show you the backstory piece by piece... Plus you can often take different paths to finish your objectives, unlike most (if not all) current FPS games where you can only follow the one single path which isn't blocked by debris, or one-way/locked doors... ;)

Firek: Any particular reason? I didn't have a chance to finish it, but I played for a longer while and, despite the dated visuals, I enjoyed it. I played it maybe a couple months back (being a completionist, I insisted on playing this before Bet on Soldier, which isn't a bad game), and man, the gameplay hurt. It was so hard, I almost wanted to do a Angry German Kid and bash my keyboard. It always seemed like the enemy could find me a zillion miles away with his Badass Sniper 3000, and I always felt like I was outgunned by everyone else. I have to say, the visuals were very nice and they still hold up graphically. The news broadcasts were pretty cool though, especially that end one. You know the one, Firek.

Bought and bought looks really interesting with the alternative history of WW1 never ending. For the price it should give some good gameplay.
Graphics look ok not brilliant but hey graphics dont make a great game.

I loved this game and want to buy it again, just have to check around other weekend deals, see who gets my money this time around.
So far GOG has snatched up a few purchases from me, but I really don't want to pay $10 for this game.
I dunno I might be too tempted though....argh

Sounds like my kind of FPS. Unfair, hard and few one way only corridors. Having practically been raised on FPS games, I'm having a hard time finding some challenge these days, and often the few games that have a proper challenge are those that get bashed to pieces by reviewers because it isn't a clone of Halo or Half-Life 2, or is "too hard". Fucking pussy paid reviewer bitches.

Seriously, I like games that are hard and all, but Iron Storm took it to a new level of annoying for me (as this Crysis... how the hell did those guys see me three klicks away?). Others may like it, so go ahead, enjoy it. This is just my experience from playing it.
And I'm sticking by it.

Ah, sure I can't force you, but your complaints about this attract me, peculiarly enough.
Crysis was an excellent challenge. I played through both Crysis and Warhead on Delta, and it was awesome.
