and 1946 has everything, all the good historical stuff and wacky stuff like the heinkel lerche 3 that existed but didn't see wartime service.
On a related note, I think I've found a birthday present for a friend...

Good call.
1 the game is cheaper
2 I had to wait to download the manual
3 I never had the chance to get the ref. card or the other great material that is found here.
My advice if you like flight sims DO NOT HESITATE.

Even though it's possible to play with keyboard and mouse, It is definitely strongly recommended to use a joystick.

Best combat flight sim in recent times! Actually, it's an entire serie combined in one game! Get yourself a joystick and play it. Too bad it doesn't focus on the Battle of Britain, but there's a sequel in the make which does!

Actually, there is already an excellent sim completely focused on the Battle of Britain. It stays up there with IL-2: 1946 in the top of my favorite WW2 flight sims.

The game card doesn't mention it, so I ask just to make sure: this version is fully patched to version 4.08m, isn't it?
