After releasing the first three installments of this acclaimed series, it was only natural to add Heroes of Might and Magic 4 to the lineup. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

You probably know this already, but [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/heroes_of_might_and_magic_4_complete]Heroes of Might and Magic 4 is a casual, fantasy-themed turn-based strategy, in which you explore a magical land and lead hordes of mythical creatures against the enemies of your realm. The Complete edition includes the original game and its two expansions: The Gathering Storm and Winds of War, giving you countless hour of gameplay to look forward to.
The fourth installment of the series remains the fabulous fairy-tale design and beautiful 2D graphics, but also was somewhat innovative, as it added many new features to the well-established gameplay of its predecessors, most notably letting the Heroes participate in battles. Get your copy today and find out how the gameplay evolved.
Nice. Does this mean that Might and Magic VII is on its way soon?

Roman5: Just added my own review of the game, check it out, I really reccomend it! :)
Also: BIG props to GoG for adding the soundtrack! definitely the best soundtrack in the series!
I do agree that it sounds very good from what I've heard so far but since you make such a bold statement I must ask if you have actually heard the soundtrack of the first two Heroes games? The soundtrack for the second and it's expansion pack is really excellent.

Too bad, I already have this one (working)... Anyway, I find this one of the more interesting versions of HoMM out here...

yep, played and completed all of the heroes games (massive fan here)

I just personally love the soundtrack of 4 the most, even if it isn't the best game in the series
For those that really like this game I do recommend Age of Wonders 1 and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. They have many similarities to the HoMM series and especially to this one.

Some of them are:

Heroes that level up, learn skills and find artifacts. Creatures that can move around in parties with or without heroes, this makes for a very interesting strategic gameplay with units that fly, have mountaineering, can swim or conceal themselves in forests.

Heroes that can fight on the battlefield.

A great magic system with many spells in seven schools of magic.

A tactical mode that is even better than the one in HoMM II\HoMM III. Creatures have more passive and active abilities which sets them apart more and gives you more choices. The big important battles are really epic. You will want to put on some Basil Poledouris or Hans Zimmer for some of those. The siege battles in AoW 1 in particular is a thing of wonder. Sometimes you might want to meet the army of the AI in his city even if you don't need to, just for the experience.
The downside to the greater number of units (a maximum of 56 involved in a single battle, though very rarely more than 48) is that the battles in general take more time than in HoMM II - III.

A great number of mythical creatures. The background information and story is much better in the AoW games. The game takes itself seriously.

This was a fun one - tons and tons of hours of gameplay. I'd buy it immediately if I didn't have the CD in my desk. Nice to see it on GoG :)

SLP2000: Oh, and I forgot - Ubisoft (and GOG) - give us Heroes Chronicles Complete (with two free expansions that are not available to buy anywhere)!
Oh yes yes.
This this this!
Now my hopes for Heroes Chronicles are just a little bit higher...
Sure? Heroes IV is a game that got a bad rap when it came out, but in retrospect it's a perfectly good game with some design issues and an amazingly bleh art style.
The only thing I didn't like about this game was the siege combat. I can see that they didn't want to rehash the exact same style from the previous 3 games, so I appreciate the designers' willingness to try it differently, but in this case that experiment failed.

Still, it retained enough elements from the previous games to immediately immerse players familiar with the franchise into familiar territory. The fact that this release also includes the two very hard to find expansions makes it an essential buy for me.

And I was wondering why GoG didn't have any mid-week releases or specials. Now they release both Heroes IV and Might & Magic VII! Very sly move!
Yet another game to buy . . . =)
I'm just a few dollars short of being able to comfortably buy this without messing up my bills.

I are sad. :(
This was one of the games that GOG ought to have in stock!Thank you team!
