Unite a quarrelling kingdom and save a delicate peace.

Save a fragile peace in the open-world RPG Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition, available now on GOG.com for just $9.99.

It's been two years since the events from [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_3]Gothic 3. You awaken from a coma induced by the finale of the first game. In those two years, everything has not gone well. Myrtana is divided into four parts, now ruled by old friends of the nameless hero. Gorn took the paladins’ stronghold Gotha, while Thorus united the orcs and he settled in the castle in Trelis. Commander Lee now rules the capital of Myrtana--Vengard--and the eastern parts of the land. Finally, Inog and Anog jointly administer the territories of Silden and Geldern. The promise of peace and unity that you fought so hard for before you fell asleep has proved an empty one.

You as the nameless hero must reconcile the warring parties and bring peace to the land again. The main area to explore is Myrtana, and since this is a sandbox RPG, you can explore it in any fashion you see fit as you fight to preserve your troubled land. The fighting system has been revamped, the open world lets you play the game how you see fit, and the main story and many sidequests are sure to keep you occupied for hours. This is the Enhanced Edition, which fixes many major bugs, improves the overall gameplay, and even has some improved graphics and effects from the original release.

GOG.com is sporting the Enhanced Edition of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods made by Trine Games & G3 Community Patch Team. Get it now DRM-Free for just $9.99!

TheEnigmaticT: You may ask: but this is madness: a new game on a Monday? There's something cool happening tomorrow. So check back then. ;)
I'm hoping it has to do with Barnett's tweet. ;)

But on a more serious note, I hope you guys know what you are doing here. I've been hearing some crotchety responses from people here about this as a stand-alone expansion, the price, bugs, etc. I want to be optimistic that people, including me, will be able to see the good in this.
GOG really has to learn the golden rule of Yoga-Pants

I will let this slide, as it a "necessary completion entry" (see MoO 3), but please try some quality control in the future!
OK this was a total shock a game on monday what will happen next )
wth , i wish this was not released at all :X such releases maybe old but they will taint the quality of the whole gog collection , i pity those who collect all the gog games...this one will be a bad apple in the bunch . not one sane person can say this is a good old game sheesh ....

There can't be many more completionist bad games out there, can it? There are only so many series and only a number of those were ended with a horrible game. We're still waiting for Ultima 9, but other than that, we should be out of the woods.

That game isn't even old. I wouldn't mind to see some 90s "so-so" games here, if only for nostalgia. But this game? Man, if that is going to be the quality of the "new releases"...

RafaelLopez: Someone's gotta ask: expansion separated from the main game package? This is unseen before here. I normally don't complain of prices here (and even defend any game sold at 9.99 no matter the class), but at 20 bucks it's a different matter entirely. Hard to wishlist.
it's not really an expansion, though. it's a stand-alone product that was one of many of JoWood's attempts to cash in on a (formerly) good name.

i wouldn't necessarily draw the conclusion that GoG will start to sell expansions separately. unless the conspicuously missing EA expansions start showing up separately...

maybe tomorrow GoG will finally announce that they've managed to get the missing EA expansions on here and that everyone who's bought some of the EA games will get them for free? ahh, a man can dream...

I'll pass on this one. I'm interested to see what comes up tomorrow.

Titanium: "Enhanced edition"

Never in the history of mankind has such an oxymoron been produced.
New and improved. Honest Politician. Good old games. :3 Nah sorry bad joke there.

Well i wonder if it's the one with the fan patch or the bugged one.
If you put this expansion at 5.99 dollars instead of 9.99 I would actually purchase it right now. With the current price, forget it (until future promos).

Enhanced Edition is the subtitle they gave to the fan patched one.

well, the Enhanced Edition IS the fan-patched edition. that doesn't say much, though. there's so much wrong with the game that no patch in the world could possibly make even a mediocre game out of it.

I have the resale still somewhere here...
Well it's a excellent example for how a publisher can ruin a product with potential. PB did the fabulous Risen after they quit jowood. :) Well thanks for the heads up mate.

exactly. after the buggy and rather incomplete Gothic 3 a lot of people thought Piranha Bytes had lost it. turns out that they made the nearly bug-free and rather excellent Risen after they had left JoWood. JoWood, of course, intended to keep cashing in on the Gothic name so they outsourced the stand-alone expansion to an Indian (!!!) contract developer no one had ever heard of...
