Unite a quarrelling kingdom and save a delicate peace.

Save a fragile peace in the open-world RPG Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition, available now on GOG.com for just $9.99.

It's been two years since the events from [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_3]Gothic 3. You awaken from a coma induced by the finale of the first game. In those two years, everything has not gone well. Myrtana is divided into four parts, now ruled by old friends of the nameless hero. Gorn took the paladins’ stronghold Gotha, while Thorus united the orcs and he settled in the castle in Trelis. Commander Lee now rules the capital of Myrtana--Vengard--and the eastern parts of the land. Finally, Inog and Anog jointly administer the territories of Silden and Geldern. The promise of peace and unity that you fought so hard for before you fell asleep has proved an empty one.

You as the nameless hero must reconcile the warring parties and bring peace to the land again. The main area to explore is Myrtana, and since this is a sandbox RPG, you can explore it in any fashion you see fit as you fight to preserve your troubled land. The fighting system has been revamped, the open world lets you play the game how you see fit, and the main story and many sidequests are sure to keep you occupied for hours. This is the Enhanced Edition, which fixes many major bugs, improves the overall gameplay, and even has some improved graphics and effects from the original release.

GOG.com is sporting the Enhanced Edition of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods made by Trine Games & G3 Community Patch Team. Get it now DRM-Free for just $9.99!
hmm despite all the bad comments about the game I'd probably still get it to be completionist, when on special. I'm sure someone out there likes it, we are all different. I'm not sure if I care out the release of system shock (if it happens), cue flames, but I'll keep an open mind considering I never got to play it back in the day.
Well I am happy GOG have the game, and with the patch as well. The patch from Mad Vulture Games is said to make a big difference.
Played and enjoyed all the others in the series.

Thank you GOG

Sorry Nordic games, meant to say the patch available from Mad Vulture

Hello guys,

My name is Reinhard and I am working for Nordic Games.
I was the one that initiated the project "Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition" in the year 2010.

We started this project because we know that the original Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods was and is shit. So we decided to re-do it and rework everything.

And so we did. In March 2011 the project was released with huge success at Steam. Also players comments were positive because this is a totally redone game and has nothing except the basic idea of the content in common with the original Forsaken Gods.

So please give it a chance!

were you the same guys that made the community patch for the original Gothic 3? because that one was impressive...

I really appreciate your honesty about this. Very well, I'm wishlisting the game; $9.99 still seems a bit too much, but I might pick it up in a sale after all.

Fuzzyfireball: SYSTEM SHOCK AND LUCASARTS CONFIRMED.
I'll stop what I'm doing and do a little dance if this ever happens

Sargon: That is a horrible idea. Just calling themselves "G" or "Games" would not be a catchy name. "G for Games" would be slightly better but it would not be any good. A better solution to your concerns would be to add a sub-title to their logo. "Good old Games (and some stinkers too!)". But I think what they are doing now, using GOG instead of Good Old Games is the best solution.

serpantino: It was sarcasm :)..... I was just pointing out that GOG has lost it's meaning. The whole just think of us as "gog" is pretty dumb when that's just an Acronym.
Perhaps they could rebrand to Good "Old" Games.

Personally, I don't like the idea of them watering down the site in such a way. I'd much rather they just create a second site.

Finally I'm able to contact one of you guy. Ever since the JoWood forums went down, and Megalomanic and others stopped showing up at World of Players, it was impossible to reach you.

I hope you could tell me, if it would be possible to release the German version of the Nordic Games games, especially Gothic 2 + 3 on GOG. I'd love to buy some of your games here, but I don't want to deal with a bad English localization. So, is there any hope for that?

My thoughts exactly. I have nothing against the GOG/CDP guys releasing newer games, but I would very much prefer they do it on a sister site. As far as I know GOG still haven't confirmed that they would be keeping up the 2 old game releases per week once newer games are being brought in, and I fear the worst.
Nice.

Now, IF gog does a sale of all 4 Gothic titles for $12.50 or less, which is what the competition is asking, then I'll buy them from gog, proudly.

I think the non-English version are possibly available in DotEmu:

http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/2555/gothic-universe-edition

At least that page lists German flag too. DotEmu is known to carry localized (DRM-free) versions, for those so inclined. I personally prefer English in my games.

I bought it on Steam, and it was not a "big success" with me. How can you claim such a thing for a game that's almost unplayable even on a lot of high end computers (i.e. the newest ASUS G74SX)? The performance is extremely sluggish, so much that it ruins the whole game experience for me....
If you're seriously considering buying this game, I advise you to check out this video

Should help you decide within about...5 seconds.

Oooh that is awful, thank goodness my patched version doesn't look like that.

They won't confirm, and they wouldn't have either way, new games or no new games. It's just no longer possible. The growth of GOG over the past years has been impressive. Now most big publishers are part of it. In the end its down to them, not just GOG, which games will be licensed for re-release on the site. Chances are, there are not enough licenseable old games available anymore to keep up a 2-per-week schedule in the long run. The way I see it it's not a trade-off, it's either "fewer old games released, and a couple of newer ones to make up for it", or "fewer old games released, period".
