Unite a quarrelling kingdom and save a delicate peace.

Save a fragile peace in the open-world RPG Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition, available now on GOG.com for just $9.99.

It's been two years since the events from [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_3]Gothic 3. You awaken from a coma induced by the finale of the first game. In those two years, everything has not gone well. Myrtana is divided into four parts, now ruled by old friends of the nameless hero. Gorn took the paladins’ stronghold Gotha, while Thorus united the orcs and he settled in the castle in Trelis. Commander Lee now rules the capital of Myrtana--Vengard--and the eastern parts of the land. Finally, Inog and Anog jointly administer the territories of Silden and Geldern. The promise of peace and unity that you fought so hard for before you fell asleep has proved an empty one.

You as the nameless hero must reconcile the warring parties and bring peace to the land again. The main area to explore is Myrtana, and since this is a sandbox RPG, you can explore it in any fashion you see fit as you fight to preserve your troubled land. The fighting system has been revamped, the open world lets you play the game how you see fit, and the main story and many sidequests are sure to keep you occupied for hours. This is the Enhanced Edition, which fixes many major bugs, improves the overall gameplay, and even has some improved graphics and effects from the original release.

GOG.com is sporting the Enhanced Edition of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods made by Trine Games & G3 Community Patch Team. Get it now DRM-Free for just $9.99!

serpantino: They probably got muscled into it a bit by the Publisher... however I think GoG needs to drop the Good from their name as they have some real steamers on here :P and also they need to drop the Old as some of these games aren't old and just become G.
That is a horrible idea. Just calling themselves "G" or "Games" would not be a catchy name. "G for Games" would be slightly better but it would not be any good. A better solution to your concerns would be to add a sub-title to their logo. "Good old Games (and some stinkers too!)". But I think what they are doing now, using GOG instead of Good Old Games is the best solution.

hedwards: You're finally going to get a hat so large that it destroys us all?
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: No, I've had that hat for years; it is so terrible that it erases things from history. For example, no one remembers user Aboleh here on GOG anymore. He made me angry, and the Great Hat smote him. He has been unwritten from history.

Pity, though. Everyone remembered him for his awesome 73-part Let's Play of Sensible Soccer 2006. >.>
I see. This hat of yours is what inspired "The Rock of Ages" game right? But why did they change the hat into a rock?

gm192206: I have no problem with GOG releasing this; it helps complete the series, and people can decide for themselves whether they want it.

That being said, I bought the entire Gothic pack for some ridiculously low price during Gamersgate's holiday sale, so I'm obviously not buying it here (and that's another vote for "GOG needs package pricing").
I agree wholeheartedly. If GOG decides to release even Arcania with datadisk (even though I heard it´s not Gothic anymore), I´m definitely gonna buy it here.

But jolly good, sir, if today´s release is System Shock 1 or 2, it´s insta-buy for me! :O

TheEnigmaticT: You wound me, Sargon. :(
I'm sorry man. I know that DRM is the last thing that you guys would do to this site. I have a rather wicked sense of humor.
I really appreciate what your team has done in the last years, it is significant work that is changing the future of gaming and it is also a source of great joy for so many of us.

Thank you GOG! I salute you!

I will for my part try to give you a compliment for every time that I complain. As for my villainous jokes I can't make any promises ;)

Here is a slogan that you could perhaps could use on some part of the site or on t-shirts:
"DRM?- Over my cold dead body"

bazilisek: Let's see... Aboleh... A Malaysian Catholic who likes singing in churches? I'm not sure what to make of that.
No, that is Activision's new direction for their music games. Monolith Productions on the other hand has a rather novel approach for their upcoming "Karaoke Hero" for the Wii. "Karaoke Hero" is 50% a traditional karaoke game using the microphone addon and 50% a sandbox game where you control a well armed and slightly crazy karaoke singer running through the streets of Helsinki. Is "My Way" going to be included? You betcha!

Will "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" be a bonus song?

Fuzzyfireball: SYSTEM SHOCK AND LUCASARTS CONFIRMED.
Let's hope so. Not so much interested in LucasArts (being a lifelong LA fan, I've already got all the SCUMM games), but System Shock would, as always, be instabuy for me.

I was beginning to lose hope, but if the rights problems as regards Syndicate were resolved, there's a glimmer of hope. That being said, System Shock 1 seems to be a rights nightmare, and even Irrational Games itself (home of Ken Levine of Looking Glass Studios fame) doesn't seem to have a clue what's happening.

It was sarcasm :)..... I was just pointing out that GOG has lost it's meaning. The whole just think of us as "gog" is pretty dumb when that's just an Acronym.

That's actually pretty common with acronyms. They do lose their meaning fairly often. See here for some examples.
