Unite a quarrelling kingdom and save a delicate peace.

Save a fragile peace in the open-world RPG Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition, available now on GOG.com for just $9.99.

It's been two years since the events from [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_3]Gothic 3. You awaken from a coma induced by the finale of the first game. In those two years, everything has not gone well. Myrtana is divided into four parts, now ruled by old friends of the nameless hero. Gorn took the paladins’ stronghold Gotha, while Thorus united the orcs and he settled in the castle in Trelis. Commander Lee now rules the capital of Myrtana--Vengard--and the eastern parts of the land. Finally, Inog and Anog jointly administer the territories of Silden and Geldern. The promise of peace and unity that you fought so hard for before you fell asleep has proved an empty one.

You as the nameless hero must reconcile the warring parties and bring peace to the land again. The main area to explore is Myrtana, and since this is a sandbox RPG, you can explore it in any fashion you see fit as you fight to preserve your troubled land. The fighting system has been revamped, the open world lets you play the game how you see fit, and the main story and many sidequests are sure to keep you occupied for hours. This is the Enhanced Edition, which fixes many major bugs, improves the overall gameplay, and even has some improved graphics and effects from the original release.

GOG.com is sporting the Enhanced Edition of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods made by Trine Games & G3 Community Patch Team. Get it now DRM-Free for just $9.99!
Hmmm, I'll pass on this one, because I bought it for €5 on DVD just six months ago, and it's not really all that great, so I'm not all that interested in having it in English either (bearing in mind that German is technically the "original" language anyway for this game).

Roman5: Check out the release date:
March 22, 2011
Probably in the US: In Germany, and I believe the rest of Europe as well, it came out in 2008.

Edit: Never mind, just got the joke :)

From their Twitter feed: If you thought that yesterday's Monday release was unusual, just wait for today's news! You can always expect them to put a positive spin on things. Taking into account their previous PR stunts, I'm guessing G3: FG EE was a shock, to get everyone talking and today they'll present us with something...miraculous I think...I hope. In any case, we'll get surprised.
I think they always wait until Americanos have woken up before revealing or promoting anything. I'm sure the Aussies and Asians have also been eagerly awaiting any info.

As for "why would they publish this POS?", I prefer them publishing complete series whenever possible, even if some parts of the series or some expansions are sheeet. I think everyone can make the decision themselves whether they want to buy it or not, you don't have to buy everything they publish.

They probably got muscled into it a bit by the Publisher... however I think GoG needs to drop the Good from their name as they have some real steamers on here :P and also they need to drop the Old as some of these games aren't old and just become G.

They put a large turd with glitter on display and you hope for something more than some air freshener?

Well, TheEnigmaticT did earn his nickname for some reason and GOG has been known to pull crazier leaps of logic before. Even if what they release is just an "air freshener", considering the substantial smell of this crap of a game, it will have to be a powerful air freshener to have have any sort of effect.

Could finally see the sense in bundle pricing, since GG and even DotEmu beat them in that regard.

TheEnigmaticT: You may ask: but this is madness: a new game on a Monday? There's something cool happening tomorrow. So check back then. ;)

hedwards: You're finally going to get a hat so large that it destroys us all?
No, I've had that hat for years; it is so terrible that it erases things from history. For example, no one remembers user Aboleh here on GOG anymore. He made me angry, and the Great Hat smote him. He has been unwritten from history.

Pity, though. Everyone remembered him for his awesome 73-part Let's Play of Sensible Soccer 2006. >.>

www.g.com then. Maybe if they later offer some apps too, they could become www..com.

I take it then that in some cases it can't be a matter of taste whether a game is any good? I haven't played Forsaken Gods so I'm not sure how bad I'll consider it, but I might still buy it cheap from some promo just for completeness sake as I have G1-G3 as well, and find out myself if it really has no redeeming values whatsoever.

A bit like how I earlier bought Ultima 8 and 9 even though everyone (=real Ultima fans) seemed to hate them, and I'd say I even enjoyed U8 quite a bit, especially the music was unbelievably good (on Roland SCC-1 at least), and I liked the setting too.

Maybe I'm not in a hurry to get it, or decide to skip it altogether, but still I prefer it being available here, instead of not. Just in case.

Oh, that must be a hint of what's coming today! Let's see... Aboleh... A Malaysian Catholic who likes singing in churches? I'm not sure what to make of that.

You know, I *should* have made that I hint. Clearly, I'm not on my game this morning. :P

Something unusual..... well they are still to explain why the GOG logo is here:

http://www.gaikai.com/services

That would certainly be unusual.

Could it be that more Sensible Software games are coming to GOG? Or better yet, GOG will start offering Amiga titles? ;)
