Wow, great release!
the fact is I've bought all three about 6 months ago (they came in the box with the new Gobliiins 4) and they were totally win xp compatible and all, BUT the musical score was different...
So I'm going to buy your package as well, fingers crossed that you've used the original music, not the new one!
But what the hell, it's Goblins!!! :D (2 and 3 are marvelous!!!!!)
PS: sorry about those exclamation marks, but it's Goblins!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone explain what the game is all about? I don't get it at all, from just the description and the screenshots.
Well, it's basically 3 guys, that needs to solve a series of very clever puzzles - one screen at a time - to proceed to next screen.
You use them to do different things, as each has their own field of strenght.
One may be very strong, another good at magic etc.
And if you try to make them do things they can't, but still try, the others will laugh at you(him) :)

It's about solving puzzles with your goblins (or in the third game, goblin) to proceed to the next screen, where a new set of puzzles await you.
What sets it apart from other games is the sheer amount of whacky stuff you can do to the goblins, connected with or unrelated to the 2-3 puzzles you have to solve on each screen. Such as making branches fall in their heads, exposing them to spiders, walking too close to a giant and getting beat up, scaring them to death with a zombie, etc. etc.

jimbob0i0: Not sure if what GoG uses for windows compatibility for these... but it should be noted that these three are fully supported by ScummVM.

In that case, that's probably what they use. That and DOSbox are used by many games here.
Gee, I can't stand the Gobliiins series !
Don't get me wrong, they are superb games, it's just that I'm not intelligent enough to solve the riddles... :(

Yeah, it's a wacky adventure that's all about timing (in the case of Gobliins or Gobliiins). Whenever you let one goblin do something, you have to be sure to other one is there at the right spot, so he can act on whatever it is the other goblin made happen.
Yes... Well, if that didn't make it clear for you, then I don't know what does.
Buying *_*
...as soon as I get home.
Uhm, do this have different music from the original trilogy, and did Gobliins 2 always give such obvious hints whenever you did something? Like,I tried picking up the bottle with both guys, and one guy said I had to distract them, and the other guy said I had to make them laugh.
I mean, I can't remember getting such obvious hints in the original by default. I don't want hints. And I miss the original music, it was much better.
Edit:: Darn.it seems that the version we get is the CD version, which have actual speech and not the funny gibberish they used to have. Also, it seems the CD version had completely different music from the disk version - which in my opinion is far superior.
So, GOG.com release - CD version. I wish we had the choice between disk and CD version.

This is amazing. These games are one of my most pleasant childhood memories.
Thank you so much, GOG team.
I have one little request for GOG: Can we get BOTH the CD versions as well as the floppy versions? The floppy versions have a completely different MIDI soundtrack that has a few quite awesome tracks. It would be really REALLY great if we could choose between the CD version and the floppy versions.
Pretty please? The floppy versions are really really tiny compared to the CD version and also fully compatible with ScummVM, so if there are no legal problems, there should be no technical problem either... :-)

Also, I prefer the floppy version. I don't want them to speak english, I want them to speak gibberish.

Hm... I also have the CD version, but on it they talk gibberish if I recall correctly. Also, there are no hints of any kind in the second game. Don't know about differences in music though.
EDIT: By the way, I have a version that doesn't contain the third game, so that explains the differences probably.
Anyway, to still give my post any value, I'd like to say I probably would prefer the gibberish version also.
