With another release from the new wave of Atari titles hitting GOG.com's catalogue, we're answering another question - what game made you feel like a hero? It's Demon Stone.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/forgotten_realms_demon_stone]Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is an action RPG set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms. Players take control of a party of heroic characters which include a fighter, a sorcerer and a rogue. Each of the characters have their own set of skills and require a different approach to the gameplay. The really cool feature of the game is that you can switch between your heroes anytime you need to fully take advantage of their abilities and perform deadly team attacks. Hack-and-slash gameplay and nice looking graphics are accompanied by enthralling story by R.A. Salvatore, great soundtrack and top notch voice acting. Action-RPG fans get another gem to their precious collection.
I don't remember this game being especially well received, but I guess since they've exhausted all the good D&D RPGs that Atari-Hasbro is allowed to distribute they have to go somewhere with that license from here.

As far as preaching to the choir goes, you seem to be convinced the choir consists entirely of heathens xP.

Max_R: Quite good beat 'em up no more no less
If it's a beat em up, then it sounds like my kind of game.
I'm not that good at doing things like thinking and strategizing.
Wow. Throughout the description it seemed like a pretty fun game. Then I got to the part about Salvatore and I was absolutely sold. I don't even need to read any reviews to make sure the gameplay's good, I'm going to buy this for the story.

issarad: Hi, I'm R.A.Salvatore, watch me shoe-horn in my iconic character Drizzt into this story.

Yeah, no thanks... I'll pass after having played this on my old Xbox back in the day. It was an okay hack-n-slaher, but nothing overly exciting.
Drizzt is in it? Even better, it's been far too long since I've read about him. =D

I hope next game will be Neverwinter Nights 2. Both Dragonshard and Demon Stone games are mediocre and only D&D name giving them some credit I think.
The only release so far I am not interested in at all. Meh.

why " players" don't like a game

game sucks because of it's graphics ( " shiny graphics " syndrome , DX11 maniacs )
game sucks because of its control system ( can't play with gamepad , controller )
game sucks because of the publisher ( DRM, price )
game sucks because its theme
game sucks because its platform ( ew , it's a pc title )
game sucks ( because i only want all my games on Steam , .....etc )
game sucks ( it don't have at least 100 achievements , e-penis syndrome )

He wasn't talking about the reviews for this specific game, he was talking about metascores in general.

I actually think some of those complaints are reasonable, like graphics ,drm and bad controls. I think some of the other supposed complaints are just made up/exaggerated by lackoo and barely exist on metascore

Don't the have the rights to the EoB games, gold box, etc?
I have this still laying about somewhere and have not played it. I guess I'll search for it later and perhaps finally play it.
The game is not an RPG - it's a hack and slash action game with some minor RPG elements.

BUT it's actually quite a decent hack & slash game with a nice story and cool characters.

I'm not sure what the situation is with those games. They were published by SSI, so Ubisoft probably owns the rights to those assets, but can't distribute them because Atari owns those rights now. So, there would probably have to be a deal between Ubisoft and Atari, possibly with some additional hassle from Hasbro depending on what GOG talked them into the first time.
