Not so long ago we released a bunch of classic RPGs set in the Dungeons & Dragons world of Forgotten Realms. Today the spotlight falls upon a younger, but extremely popular setting - Eberron.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dungeons_dragons_dragonshard]Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard offers an interesting blend of genres. As the story progresses you will travel on the surface of Eberron and through the underground realm of Khyber. Here's where the genres get divided.
On the surface, Dragonshard is a real-time strategy with base building, amassing armies and everything else you would expect from an RTS game. Among the available unit types there are champions, lumbering Juggernauts, captains and regular soldiers. Only the captains can follow your chosen champion underground.
In Khyber, the realm beneath Eberron's surface, Dragonshard becomes a party-based dungeon crawler with role-playing elements, as befits a game bearing the Dungeons & Dragons name. Although it doesn't use the D&D ruleset, you'll have no doubt that you're playing a solid RPG.
Overall, a superbly designed game in an acclaimed setting, with an interesting story split into two campaigns that will keep you occupied for days. That's the Atari game that made you go to the underworld.
a rts mix with a rpg? This looks interesting.
Going have to try the demo of this out.
After taking a look at the screenshots, the artwork of the game does ring a bell.
Think i may of heard about it once on x play or some other magic orb show.
Again very interesting find, may have to pick this up,if i like the demo.

I've never heard of this. I was excited until I read "real-time strategy with base building." I hate those.
Hehe, on the 9'th game screenshot there is "GOG" written on snow. :)
I can't say anything about the game as I never played it.
The RTS part of it worries me as it's not my type of game, but RPG is, so I'm a little bit indecised here.
good release!

Wishbone: How can a game called "Dungeons & Dragons" not use the D&D ruleset? Not that I mind, I'm just surprised.
I would guess because it's set in Eberron, seeing how that is a D&D setting.
Great game.
Unfortunately I bought a new commp last month.
I booked a holiday this month & then had to replace the washing machine, so this will have to wait a month or two... :(

The cynic in me would suspect it would be the licensing fee paid to use the Dungeons and Dragons franchise :)
I have no proof but when I thought of a game where you go to the underworld I thought of this one. I didn't remember the name but I did remember a D&D type game where you fight both overland and under the land.
Never played this one. It's a good game for a RTS fan?
Eh...I think I will pass to. Love the D&D but this looks to be a $5.99 game.

Yes, it's a good and underrated RTS. If you like the genre and D&D a must have!
Looks pretty cool. I might have to check it out.
Eh, no thank you. I remember hearing not so amazing things about this game when it came out. Maybe if it was 5.99
loving this game, but had always problems with unexpected crashed on my computer. Maybe because of a silly copy protection they had, or just a lousy memory usage?

Loved the first 3 missions, but after that the game became unplayable on my computer :(

Hope this has been fixed, will try when it is on sale, $9.99 is too much for this game.
OMG!! Great release! I didn't expect this one. I remember going to EB to buy this game after seeing it and not having any cash. When I went back it was sold out, I think they only had 1-2 copies. Anyway never had a chance to own this one, now I do. Insta-buy!

I think I know the game your talking about....but alas, I cannot remember its title either. I had a demo of an RTS that had two maps for the same level, one above and one below ground. I remember using the underground layer to flank enemies. Now if only I could remember the name....
