The Spring Site Update brought the new downloader, private messaging, various improvements to the overall GOG.com experience, and now we give all our users a free game!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dragonsphere]Dragonsphere - as that's another free game in our catalogue - is a classic point-and-click adventure game by MicroProse. Twenty years ago, your father King Of Gran Callahach, has imprisoned the evil sorcerer Sanwe in a Dragonsphere. Now the spell is waning, and you as the new king in your first and the most important quest have to stop Sanwe from taking his revenge. The story seems very typical - you as a hero have to save the world once again - but you cannot be more wrong about it as that's just the beginning. Discover what the real plot is all about traveling through beautifully drawn locations and solving challenging yet clever puzzles. Set yourself for a great journey, after all it's totally free on GOG.com!

deonast: I wonder about those large game downloads that are several gig download sections. Can you successfully download all at once via the browser. I've never tried (I'm probably thinking too much about other download sites that hate more than one at once).

Coelocanth: I've DLed all my GOG games through the browser. Never had an issue.
Cool, I'll just use my browser in future then.
That is ver nice of you gog. Indeed very nice... I know I may sound a bit weird, but I DO think that gfx in those 199x games was charming.
Never heard of nor played this before. Considering it's free, though, I guess I have no excuse not to.
Anything free is worth saving up for.

Thank you!
The .conf file needed a bit of tweaking. :P
Aspect ratio is set to false and dosbox doesn't exit when the game is quit.
Thank you GOG , pass me a copy please . . . =)

deonast: Oh windows only, that's not so good. I have a linux machine I run at night for downloads (my internet quota is more generous at night) so a windows only downloader is going to stop that. I don't run my windows machine at night as it chews a lot more power than my little linux appliance. I think I'll share your pain. I did want the game though.
Here are two community made Linux downloaders to dry your tears on:

EDIT: it might be more accurate to call them cross-platform.

Very cool game to add as free, I would have paid for this one. You guys should add Rex Nebular to the Microprose section next, would love to play that one again too.

A word of warning, Dragonsphere has a few parts where you can make the game unbeatable, try not to throw your monitor out a window if youre at the last phase of the game and relize you have to start over :P
Keep up the great work guys..GOG rocks!
Thanks. For some reason, did not know of this game.. Nicely SIERRA like .. and looks like fun. Appreciate the gift.. and hope to see a middle tier of prices ,, as the competition here is undercutting you sometimes. But all in all, nice gesture ;)
Very cool, GOG! Thanks!

This. I thought about buying something but figured I should wait to see what the promo is for tomorrow.
Thank you GOG! Once again another reason you are the best.
I have to shamefully admit that I had never heard of this one before, but I'm excited to try it out. Thanks GoG!
