The Spring Site Update brought the new downloader, private messaging, various improvements to the overall GOG.com experience, and now we give all our users a free game!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dragonsphere]Dragonsphere - as that's another free game in our catalogue - is a classic point-and-click adventure game by MicroProse. Twenty years ago, your father King Of Gran Callahach, has imprisoned the evil sorcerer Sanwe in a Dragonsphere. Now the spell is waning, and you as the new king in your first and the most important quest have to stop Sanwe from taking his revenge. The story seems very typical - you as a hero have to save the world once again - but you cannot be more wrong about it as that's just the beginning. Discover what the real plot is all about traveling through beautifully drawn locations and solving challenging yet clever puzzles. Set yourself for a great journey, after all it's totally free on GOG.com!

carnival73: Are they still working on the PM?

I can't access the setup FAQ.

Gersen: What setup FAQ ? I haven't tried them but the PM seems to be there...next to the "online" button
Nevermind.......it's already setup as you said. I looked at the top of this page where it was suggested to clean out my browser's cache so I did and now I can see the PM button. =)
Cool. Much appreciated.

Darling_Jimmy: I wish I could share your excitement about the new Windows only downloader but—instead—I will just quietly accept the free game as a consolation prize.
Oh windows only, that's not so good. I have a linux machine I run at night for downloads (my internet quota is more generous at night) so a windows only downloader is going to stop that. I don't run my windows machine at night as it chews a lot more power than my little linux appliance. I think I'll share your pain. I did want the game though.

I wonder about those large game downloads that are several gig download sections. Can you successfully download all at once via the browser. I've never tried (I'm probably thinking too much about other download sites that hate more than one at once). I'm assuming there is a good reason for the down loader otherwise they'd just say use your browser and save themselves development time.

They download fine, just make sure they all go into the same directory and run the first .exe that will handle the install.

This downloader supports multiple game downloads at once(or game part downloads) and supports suspending or resuming and error checking if one of the downloads gets messed up.....so it'd be of great help to those with slow connections when downloading larger files to make sure all gets to their end correctly.
mmmmmmMicroProse, I've spent unhealthy amounts of hours playing their games on the C64 and the Amiga. Gunship, Silent Service, Airborne Ranger, Pirates!... ah the memories

Here's hoping we'll see more classics from this wonderful game developer in the future.
I actually own a physical copy of this game came in like a narrow hard cover book format with the CD clipped inside, a whole AUD $4.95 way back in the distant past. Great to have this on GOG now, I would have been happy to pay for it as I never got far into it before getting distracted by life.

You are right, I have queued up several games in the past and had to resume after a fault. I'm going to miss that on my linux box.
Wishlisted ;)
Thanks GOG, I had never heard of this game before but if the Rock Paper Shotgun guys like it, then it must be good :D
Thanks, guys. You know how to make us feel appreciated.
I'm not much into p-n-c adventures, but this is one I've always wanted to try. Thanks guys :)
