thornton_s: It's quite a tough one if i remember. I think you also needed to manually make notes as the game doesn't do it for you. I've posted a review below (although the site is for hardcore adventure gamers so it may be a bit biased).

Hey are you Ray? Cool I love the reviews from Just Adventure, and I read Adventure Gamers too. Good stuff you guys!
Uuu, I've heard of this. *wishlists*
niiiice..dont think Ive heard of this ( at least not played it). Im all for adventure style horror games, so this is going straight to basket.

Wishbone: How did you manage to shoehorn an A and a C into the word "the"? :-D

Delixe: I nearly choked on my tea from laughing.

Irish people drink tea? Surely you mean beer.
After rummaging around the 'Net a bit, I see there's a sequel to this, and one reviewer particularly noted that the sequel, at least, will run under WINE. Any chance of Dark Fall: Lights Out coming soon too? :)

Even I need water in some form. Tea is more palatable than Irish tap water which is like sucking water through chalk.

Nope, I'm not Ray.
I use the same 2 sites myself for adventure reviews.
This one's pretty good too, even has some older games reviewed.

Oh, finally a Jonathan Boakes game. Lights Out is next, right ? ;)
This one was a no brainer. Downloading now.
Edit:
I seem to remember Jonathan mentioning somewhere that we was thinking about making 'The Displacement' available as a free download . Anyone knows if that happened yet ?

Am I right assuming that it is the original game version?
There is also a "classic edition" of this game:
"The classic edition is an updated version of the first Dark Fall game, which is optimised for Windows XP®, and Windows Vista®. The actual gameplay remains almost the same, with new sounds and a few technical tweaks to improve gameplay."
Oh, wow, Darkfall, nice. I just received a new copy, my "Pins & Needles Limited Edition" came in the mail yesterday funnily enough.

I believe so, all the Darkfall games are now distributed through Boake's Darkling Room publishing house. This seems to be the original version that XXv and JoWood managed to hold on to. However, the differences in the two version are mostly negligible, it seems, as I can't tell much of a difference myself.

Mr. Bill's Adventureland is an awesomely ugly site, but has a ton of really good reviews as well.

Sweet.
Another game for the collection and perfect for this weekend.
Thanks GOG.
Yes, a Johnathan Boakes title! That guy is awesome. It would also be awesome to get his other Dark Fall game, Barrow Hill and Scratches (he contributed to both), as well as The Lost Crown. But The Lost Crown came out last year, so that could wait.

Still wanna play Darkfall, but Scratches: DC was scary as all get out. I'm afraid to reinstall it, actually.
