“March to the sound of the guns”

Experience the trials and tribulations of managing a post-Renaissance army in [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/cossacks_anthology]the Cossacks Anthology, available now for just $5.99!

We may think that the modern age as one filled with savage conflicts--
World War I and World War II were titanic struggles that engulfed the whole planet--but Europe has a long and bloody history. The Cossacks Anthology on GOG.com brings the smoke and fury of battle back when black powder and pike ruled the battlefield right to your PC. Challenging players on both the tactical and the strategic front, Cossacks: European Wars requires avoiding plague and famine while collecting the raw resources needed to continue to equip and man a ravenous war machine. With 16 nations in the original game--and 2 more added in each of the 2 expansions--players can try to crush their opposition as almost any major European power.

With ten different campaigns, hundreds of single missions, multiplayer, random map generation, and a roll-your-own map editor, this Cossacks anthology has everything that a student of military history and strategy needs for endless hours of fun. With the expansions added, each force in a given confrontation can field 16,000 troops, giving battles a grand sense of scope and scale.

Take to the field and show Europe what you’re capable of in the Cossacks Anthology, today on GOG.com for only $5.99!
One question - does it mean we're done with Square Enix?
I'd never heard of this game, and I generally prefer TBS to RTS, but at least one screenshot shows warships and that's got my attention. Is this really more ship-to-ship fighting by boarders/units of marines or honest-to-goodness full-on naval warfare?
My attached image approves!

YES!!! I've been a fan since the first Cossacks game and I've been waiting for this for a long time. Does this mean that American Conquest and Napoleon will be released separately?
Fantastic new release

Great game and great price too

What's more important GSC Game World joined GOG

Hopefully we will get the Stalker games soon over here as well
Looks like it is similar to rise of nations, which I loved so I'll have to give it a look.

You've got ships, they sail around and blow stuff, no boarding. It does not have any realistic naval mechanics but if anything landbased is within the range of a Ship of the Line it will die. No exceptions. They are basically floating Deathstars. A bit overpowered you might say :P
awesome, now let's wait for Heroes of Annihilated Empires
Does that mean S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is coming to gog!?! That would be epic.

Thanks, that's helpful info! Not an instabuy then, but will go on my wishlist.

That would be nice :)
RPS making a good point that this might mean we will get Stalker games here as well. Of course those are not as old yet.

An awesome new and unexpected release. Though not an instabuy for me, I am certainly glad to see this game here.
GSC'd or GOG'd version of the painting isn't quite up to the original. Just look at them faces. Especially the ones that got left out of the frame.

The guy twirling his moustache behind the guy with a pot-shaped hat on the head looks a bit like a Blackadder relative.

The painting and especially the story behind it is indeed epic, in the truest sense of the word.
