Team: Sniper, Rifleman, Demolitions, and Heavy Weapon Expert. Objective: Preserve Freedom!

Command an elite squad from either the American Delta Force or British SAS in Conflict: Desert Storm on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Conflict: Desert Storm is a first person/third person shooter. You are sent right in the middle of the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict in August of 1990. Your team of trained commandos consists of Bradley, rifleman and team leader; Conners, the heavy weapons expert; Foley, the team sniper; and Jones, the explosives and anti-tank specialist. As your soldiers gain experience, they also gain ranks and can become more skilled in the art of war. This is essential as the war conditions will change from bad to much, much worse.

Rescuing the Emir of Kuwait, engaging Iraqi forces in the Battle of Khafji, rescuing prisoners from Baghdad, fighting Iraqi Republican Guard, assassinating enemy general -- all in-game mission objectives are based on real events from the First Iraqi War with tactics and missions designed by a former SAS officer. The game offers advanced AI, super-realistic desert environment, real weapons, and combat vehicles (a player-controllable Humvee and a M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle)Whether you venture onto the battlefield alone or with a coordinated squad of AI-controlled Special Forces soldiers, you are in the heart of of the most authentic tactical combat experience of the Gulf War.

Do not negotiate. Do not surrender. Get Conflict: Desert Storm for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

derailedition: I question the sanity of anyone in this thread who say they enjoyed this game, and the even worse sequels.
whatever you say. you posted a 'review' devoid of any argumentation within minutes of the game's release. that's kind of odd.

derailedition: are the conflict series games really hard to find though? always seemed overprinted (and underpurchased, always tons of copies in retail stores). I question the sanity of anyone in this thread who say they enjoyed this game, and the even worse sequels.
Like I said, it's hardly a classic but once I got used to the awkward controls I did have fun playing it. Sure, there's not much depth to this game - just run around with your squad and shoot enemy soldiers and complete objectives - but I think it is a bit harsh to suggest that anyone who enjoyed this game needs their sanity questioned. We all have our guilty pleasures.

Another more modern looking, sure why not.

I totally agree actually, i just said i thought it was terrible but that doesn't mean everybody feels this way. I have tons of games i really like that most find terrible (daikatana for starters).

The "Conflict XYZ" games are hardly bad games, let alone worth the rant you are giving off. I had a great time playing the first. It certainly isn't a classic like Deus Ex or Thief. But it is a fun game, worth the title of GOG.

It has a unique scenario and a great mission design. Gameplay is solid and it still looks good. I would love some more extras, as I've already played that game to death but I will pick it up eventually.

Good choice for "low performance" laptop users that want to play a nice tactics shooter.

derailedition: hehe. even as generally hated as daikatana is, it would be a better release on gog than conflict desert storm.

at least people care one way or the other about daikatana. :-D
what's your problem anyway? both here and in your sorry excuse for a review you bash the game and everyone who enjoyed it, yet you never once managed to cough up an argument.

you sound more like you're just mad at GoG for not releasing the game you've been hoping for (probably either Thief 2 or Anachronox)...

I don't have a problem, as I said in my previous post I put up the non-review warning early because the ratings for the games were unfairly skewed positive. the game is objectively shit [...]
Oh, the irony. It actually hurts a little bit ...
whatever you find of the game, granted. but the reviews given are sucky too, 1 line saying it sucks doesnt suffice. and why do people whine that gog is going downhill after release a slightly lesser game while we just had thief and deus ex f.e

I'm not mad at gog for not releasing games I've been waiting for. like cybermage darklight awakening and bioforge. I'm slightly annoyed they would release this turd.
nevermind the fact that the two very first reviews were 1-star ratings without arguments...

holy crap, you should be banned from ever posting here again.

I think gog have released great games this month. A bit pricey but still.
You know, I bought freedom fighters (again in ps2 years back) because it supposed to be good if you look at the reviews but I never finished because I don't like it, if I'll have to choose this or that. It will be neither. ^^ Nah, just kidding. It would be this.
In a nutshell, this wasn't lesser game it's happy memories. =)
Not my sort of game., But choice is good.
This game was probably pretty fun on the consoles but the PC version (which I own) sucked for me because the game was almost unplayable with its mouselook-controls which lagged and didn't work at all.

I would like to ask some of the stuff members, if they will release the other games of the Conflict series on Gog.com in the future aswell?

Thank you in advance for any answer.
I've played it at friend's house, but I did not like it much.
It's not all that old and, most importantly, it's not any good, just like the sequels.

Is GOG.com now adding some shovelware to its catalogue?
