Feeling like you could be better than your boss at managing the company? Give it a shot in today's release.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/capitalism_plus]Capitalism Plus is an enhanced version of Capitalism, the acclaimed economical simulator. The game lets you create a company anywhere in the world and get a glimpse of what it's like to start and run a global business. You can choose from various sectors, like retail, R&D or production and, as your business prospers, you can create a conglomerate encompassing many of these sectors. Depending on the type of business you need to take into account marketing, research, land price, demand... And of course what your competitors are up to. Try your mettle on the global market, no risk involved.
Whoa, this is one of the best games ever. I love it so much. I'm going to buy it from GoG now, because I'm tired of having to download from an abandonware site every time I want to play (as I can never get the original version's installer working on XP).
New food for the mad, mad micro-managing beast in all of us.
LOL! I've totally forgot this game even exists. A really nice surprise!
omg1!! gog.com i love you SO MUCH!
Oh. My. God.

maybe
"Oh.My.GOG" ?
:)))))
Saw this game at my local dollar store a couple of years ago, should have picked it up then, I guess. I thought it was a throwaway budget title, but from the response it's getting, maybe I was wrong.
Nothin' like a game with a title that speaks for itself.
Surely "Capitalism Plus" is what caused the current recession?
Any chance of a Socialism Plus?
Ahem...
If anyone could make a comparison, how does this rate in complexity? Would I be able to pick this up and have a good time, then learn my way through the more tough aspects?
Well, it is fairly complex, and the major gameplay mechanics are pretty unique (so experience with other business games will probably not help much). But you don't need to know everything to have some fun, and much of it can be learned as you go along.
I think that it would take some effort to learn, but it's definitely worth it. I'll probably hang around the Capitalism forum and offer hints to those who need them, if that helps.

Yes actually. It's a great little game where you start out poor, end up giving anything you earn to the government who gives nothing back. The game ends when you try to do something besides give your money to the government and you get taken out and shot.
I seriously hope that post was a joke and you don't think that socialism really works....
How does it stack against Capitalism 2? Because I loved that one, but it doesn't want to work on my machine for some reason.

I was asking myself the same question... I'm interested in the concept, but I haven't played any of the games in this series. Should I get Capitalism, or wait for Capitalism 2 to show up on Gog.com?

Weird. I don't think people are getting taken out and shot in france right now. Or the UK, or any of the hundreds of other socialist countries out there.
I'm gonna guess you are from america, as americans seem to be the only ones in the world who think socialism = capitalism...
ahem...
anyway.. good game, bad timing ;-)
