Most of the game stopping bugs were cleared up with patches, but the problem of Bad AI,uninspired level design, a bad choice for setting (going futuristic was a bad mistake, they should have stuck with the retro fell that Blood had), the enemies are not nearly as interesting,.make the game still a huge dissapointment.
Given that, I just bought it to give it another whirl. Yes, it is vastly inferior to Blood and was not worth the 40 bucks it cost when it came out, and is certainly not worth the Horrid prices it brings on the used game market, but it worth Six Bucks.
That is one of the nice things about GOG; you can try a game that is borderline and if you don't like it your are only out six bucks..about half of what a movie ticket costs in a major city nowdays........
A lot of the problems was that it was one of the first games designed with the first version of the Lithtech engine. and it shows.
Luckily, when No One Lives Forever came out, a lot of work had been done on the Lithtech engine, and it was very stable. .I run the original CD version on my modern computer with no problems whatsoever. Still, I would like to see it on GOG,just to revive one of the greatest FPSers ever made, and which never had the huge sucess it deserved.
