Miaghstir: If those were real people talking to me in person, I would instinctively punch them.

Agree, now I won't get the game out of self-defensive avoidance ;P

If you're playing on one of those wimpy, flat, light LCD monitors, get the game. If you're still playing on a boxy, heavy CRT monitor with a thick glass screen, then don't.
I'm feeling tempted to reinstall. I could bear the voices of the other actors, the girl's was the only one that felt like nails on a blackboard.

Very nice release.
Now lets hope for Aquanox 2 but even more for Aquanoxs predecessor "Schleichfahrt".
Release A.D and AquaNox 2, please! I love the whole series! Bring back my hero "Deadeye" Flint from A.D!
Oh well, I was hoping that GOG brings Archimedean Dynasty with 3DFx patch (and emulator) ... Aquanox can have better graphics and even better gameplay, but when I heard voicing at first time, I automatically shut game down and uninstalled it ... it's horrible, really is.
never mind all these newfangled sub combat games. we need this one:

I LOVE Subwar 2050. Now THAT was a "realistic" future sub-sim game. You had to even deal with the thermoclines. So if you went through a thermocline, an enemy could not pick you up on sonar. You had active and passive sonar, and a noise signature, etc. It was so complicated, that they would NEVER make a game like that again. So sad that everything these days is just a stupid shooter (fun as they are).
Only problem was that it was HARD, and I could never quite figure out how sometimes I would have trouble with propulsion going out on me. It was probably a bug that was patched, but that was in the days before I even knew that you could get patches for games and stuff.
One cool trivia about Subwar 2050. There was an episode of SeaQuest DSV where they were trying to get out of some trench, and the console they were using to pilot the sub was actually running SubWar 2050. I thought it was funny because they had it in the low detail mode, and I could run high detail on my 386 at the time. They must have had a low budget for SeaQuest. lol...

klaymen: This is like Archimedean Dynasty's spiritual successor, isn't it?

Lone3wolf: I'm contemplating buying this just to see if it's as good as AD.
From a "Feeling" standpoint.. Don't bother. AQ and AQ2 suck in comparison to AD (which is called Schleichfahrt in its german original).

But they are ok'ish arcade simulations in style of Wing Commander, just under water.
yeah....far too late.

for both AN games

stonebro: Wrong release, I'm sure you meant to release Nox.
Heh, my thought process exactly. Got really excited when I saw nox but then realized I missed the whole aqua prefix lol...

jungletoad: I'm an avid Playstation 2 collector. This game was released on PS2, but it's very hard to find, at least in my area. I found out about it a few weeks ago while searching some lists of rare PS2 games. I figured I'd never be able to play it unless GoG released the PC version. How funny is that? A few weeks after I had the thought an now it's here!

GOG hears your prayers. (I never tire of the GOG as GOD jokes ^_^ )

cogadh: It's a GOG miracle! Praise GOG and may the blessings of GOG be upon you all.
Good Old Dames
lol

Would you mind sharing any links to those lists of rare PS2?

oops this thread is old
