Imagine a gripping, deep storyline, mixed with gameplay somewhere between Descent and Freespace, only much more challenging and underwater. Add to that then-revolutionary graphics and you've got AquaNox.
AquaNox is a submarine simulation/shooter game by Massive Development. Its plot is set in a high-tech, corrupt underwater world, in a time after the surface world's resources were depleted and humanity destroyed what was left in a devastating war. Mankind fled to the oceans, with sunlight and fresh air now just old concepts, all but forgotten. You are mercenary leader Emerald "Deadeye" Flint, a war hero down on his luck - broke, with his precious sub stolen and stuck with an old mining vessel "generously" given to him by his new employer to get him started. Right now you're set on reclaiming your ship, but the deeps like to keep surprises lurking in the dark.
I don't remember much of this one, aside from having it as a gift and then having it exchanged because the PC I had at the time would not run it.
It's part of a series of games as well IIRC.
Sounds incredible!
Well, up my street anyway (even if I've never heard of it before.....hangs head in shame).
I remember hearing a lot about this game on its release, but I have never played it. Definitely looks interesting.
This is like Archimedean Dynasty's spiritual successor, isn't it?
Has anyone here played Sub Culture by Criterion/Ubisoft? Its an underwater game where you control a yellow sub that has various tools on it for fighting and collecting trade goods. I'm hoping that one comes to GOG too. :D
Wrong release, I'm sure you meant to release Nox.
Great release, I loved this game. Thanks GOG for reminding me this game.
Instant buy!
always saw this in the shops never bought it til now thanks gog

Not heard of this before if im honest, but does look pretty damn fun :D
The second was even more fun as they added the option to turn it into a pseudo-simulator with inertia and all the goodies.
Say, is the music in the trailer taken from the soundtrack?
Never heard of it either. Looks alot like Wing Commander. Speaking of which, when are those coming out?
