How would you compare it to Heart of Darkness?
Lots of extras. Great job on this one. Can't wait to pick it up. :)
Nice Release.
I would like to see Flashback too.
For me, Flashback was always better than Another World.
Heart of Darkness is the same kind of game, but more childish. Another World is relatively dark. The controls are very simplistic, and there's a certain way to complete each "level" like in Heart of Darkness. Both games are more in the puzzle-platformer than in action-platformer, because of its trial-and-error gameplay. Nothing like the relatively free-roaming Flashback. You progress one level at a time, but it never says which level you're on... it never really gives you a breather like "loading next level" or something like that, and it feels like one very large level.
You should try OnEscapee if you like Another World... it's free on the official website, or if you want to check out a video of the original Amiga version (they're basically the same), I found a youtube playthrough.

The official website is here: http://onescapee.invictus.hu/
I remember having trouble with the download for some reason (CRC check fails), but it's been a while. If it doesn't work, look it up someplace else. It's free so no reason to feel dirty if you don't download from there.
Another good addition to GOG , but yet again way way to expensive. :(

GOG.com: The enhanced edition of one of the most awesome and innovative games ever is now here on GOG.com. It's hard to believe that such a gem was made almost entirely, musical score aside, by just one man!
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/another_world_15th_anniversary_edition]Another World is a platformer, created in 1991 by Eric Chahi. For many of you it may have been the most memorable title of your earliest PC gaming years. The 15th Anniversary Edition is a recreated version of of the game, which lets you re-experience it through higher-resolution graphics or, if you prefer, just play the oldschool VGA version. The game is quite challenging (remember those map screenshots that took up two pages of a '90s gaming magazine?), but with twice as many checkpoints it's a lot easier than it used to be. Whether you played the original or not, you can't go wrong by getting this title and reliving the glory days of PC gaming.

Oh my fucking god! Thanks for this one!

Lazy2log: How would you compare it to Heart of Darkness?

Heart of Darkness is easier, but in a good way.
Another World is full of trial-and-error and sudden deaths.
In Heart of Darkness, when you die, it's because you weren't good enough. In Another World it can also be "just because". And once you've figured out why did you die, you can work on trying to avoid it. Heart of Darkness feels smoother, you don't have to restart every screen a dozen times before you can make it, like it can be the case with Another World.
That being said, both games are really well put together and enjoyable.
The original version of this game is legendary amongst gamers from the 90's, and this version comes with improved graphics...
So it could cost *more* than 9$99 !
For me, the price/quality ratio is very good.
Thanks a lot to the GOG team (on its way to becoming another legend !)

Vandal: Sorry guys, the price point is what's been agreed upon with the license holders. Hope you enjoy the game anyway!

Don't worry about that, I think my money is better on you than on current new releases.
I'd like to instant buy it, but it seems I am low on money now...
If some fellow friend does gift me however....
Nah, I have my current focus on the Saboteur anyway. Awesome game :D
I'm not going to buy this yet, but I'm INCREDIBLY happy to see this on GOG.

DarthKaal: Excellent! Another World is truly a good old game, it fits really well here.
I will not buy it though, as I already have the boxed version of this anniversary edition. The only bonus feature I don't have are the wallpapers, so...
But I strongly encourage anyone who don't own the 15th anniversary edition, or who have never played this gem to buy it instantly!

KingofGnG: I'm looking forward to get Flashback (very probable)

Well me too, but Another World here doesn't mean we'll have Flashback too.
The only common aspect was that both games were published by Delphine Software, but it's not the case anymore with AW, as Eric Chahi has bought back rights for it.
And as Delphine is dead (RIP...), I don't know who has rights for all their titles.
I'd be so glad to see Flashback, Fade to Black, Cruise for a Corpse, etc...

Hum, yeah, you're right the Delphine Software assets aren't in just one place.... Well, while waiting and hoping for Flashback AW HD (sort of...) is a really nice release anyway....

GREAT !! This is one of my fav game :]
Great addition. I already have it on DVD though with all the extras so no rush for me, but definite purchase for everybody that doesn't have it!
Great release. Thanks GOG !
