Runehamster: Very interesting! Thank you! I think I'll still get AoW3 though, it sounds like with 1 and 3 I'll have a good sampling, two seems superfluous if you have three.

Well the third is a enhanced version of the second. Really the only reasons to get the second is for the campaign and to give GOG more money so they can keep on being awesome. :)

I'm surprised nobody else have mentioned the problem with mods, or am I the only one ?
Whole trilogy on Impulse the day after they released the first episode, WTF?

That's a huge slap in the face to GOG if you ask me. Doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about this Triumph addition.

How? No exclusivity was promised...if it was, Impulse wouldn't have had even the first game yet.

you have to ask if the Impulse version is DRM free. I can imagine that takes a bit of GOG's staff time to get the game ready for us to buy.

Exactly, just because it's an old game doesn't means GoG got any exclusivity on it. Triumph never said it would be exclusive to GoG and GoG staff never said it either. Heck not so long ago peoples, myself included, were afraid it might end up being a Steam exclusive, having it on GoG IS a good news.

You miss understand me here. I am not upset with GOG. I am a little peeved at the way Triumph has handled it thats all. Unless the GOG Team knew about the Impulse Deal I think it was a slap in the face and they should be called on it.

I didn't say anything about exclusivity. I just think it was in bad form on the part of Triumph. I could care less if these games showed up on every digital distribution outlet on the planet. To make this deal with Impulse at the same time as the GOG deal shows little respect for GOG in my opinion.
I won't say that release Age of Wonders on both Impulse and GoG is disrespetfull of one of the part. Indeed it's a good thing and boh of them are drm free (Stardock distribute drm free game sif the publisher agreed).
What I think is less respectful is having people buy a game and the day after release the trilogy. Also the trilogy is not avaible in both shop.
GoG has no leverage towards how the publisher chooses to negotiate their deal with different actors. The games will show up here in the near future, according to GoG's usual schedule. That's all I need to know.
There are times that I flat out don't understand people. It's a slap in the face for a developer to get their game made available on multiple distribution outlets? HOW? Do people just actively seek out things to be indignant about?

I am just happy it is here on GOG, and am waiting for the additional two versions to hit the digital shelves. :o)

Distribution deals are not thing that are discussed overnight, discussion with GoG, Impulse and probably Steam most likely started months ago, for what we know maybe Impulse deal was concluded before the one with GoG.
I would be surprised if the only reason why it was released on GoG before Impulse was because Stardock had "better" (better as in more recent) games to release first.
