To the topic: I don't think it's one of the “big ones” and I also hope that it’s not the one they mentioned in 2011 summary - what basically means that I hope they already have one of the 4 remaining "big-ones" already in their pocket.
I understand that, but that was only a short message. So maybe GOG should implement a dedicated section on their website that synchronize every tweets or message from their social networking. Like Arsenal FC's follow player on twitter page. So you can get the latest update even without following their profile.

The hint of action based has me agreeing with several others. Sounds like the Worms series... Team 17's been publishing their own retail releases recently and some of their most recent releases have been Digital Dist only through Steam. This might be both a new publisher and the first "new" game on GOG and be Team 17's 2010 release, Worms: Reloaded... Though *I* would prefer World Party or Armageddon...

If it is Worms I hope it won't be Reloaded. It's the only Worms game I have already so would prefer another game in the series.

It'd be nice but GOG said the next big publisher would debut with a game they will have exclusive distribution rights to for several months before any other DD site gets it. Does Microprose(or whoever holds the IP) have a game in their portfolio that no one else sells currently?

You don't have to "use" Twitter or facebook to read messages on their pages there. :\

Trilarion: My guess is: Stardock with Galactic Civilization. It's turn based, strategy anc classic (in my eyes). Also Stardock now is free from Impulse. And it would be a surprise.

2K and Civilization? Too big to be a surprise / on short notice / ... publisher, I think.
Yes but GOG has been burned a bit before(I think) by making announcements of announcements of announcements...maybe they're just going to spring it on us right away? :\

I say it's Team 17 with either Worms 2 or Armageddon. I figure GOG would spend a lot more time creating hype if it were 2K.

Magnitus: Well, you and I are part of a shrinking minority that don't use those social media services.

I think at some point, probably 80% to 90% of the population will use them and having some sort of presence on the social media scene will be a must to reach a lot of people quickly.
I don't use any of that rubbish either. I couldn't give a damn if my mate's just taken another dump or what they have to whine about today & the slutty pictures, drunken pictures, poking etc it's like the world's biggest mental asylum.
It annoys me when GOG has competitions etc limited purely to social networks and all this "Like us on bla bla bla for X" which is basically saying do our advertising for us and you can have a cookie because it's cheaper for us. Yes non-members can read twitter which is good, but last I checked Facebook doesn't & even if it did, every time I go near it I feel saturated by it, I can taste it's stink and every time I do, I fear that I've somehow been infected by it...... so I usually just avoid it.

Microprose content is owned by Atari, who is already on GOG. Firaxis is a dev not a publisher. 2K Games publishes the Civ series.

Well bugger. Since they said the publisher in question is the creator of said series, I can't be either of those (unless the hint is just poorly worded). No idea what else it could be.

They also said "action-packed turn based". I think that rules out most TBS out there, though I believe Worms and X-Com would still fit.

Besides creating more hype, 2K has so much more than just TBS's that they would probably have much more to say. I'm got getting my hopes up.
