Heh, for me Facebook was only useful when GOG did this stunt. Entering GOG Facebook page and reading users' comments gave me scraps of information until it all cleared out.

I realize that it doesn't take long before fellow goger posts on forum Facebook/Twitter important messages, but nevertheless I think there could be a section on this page where such key-messages should be visible.

EDIT: Worms you say...? I played it a bit mainly to see those funny cut-scenes (ahh sweet CD-ROM era) but I soon gave up because computer player was cheating (it shoot my worm from the distance of 2 screens ;-P).
But I guess I'll buy all of them eventually. Also hoping for classic Alien Breeds and Superfrog.

Sadly with the timestamps bugs, wishlist mess, extra copies of empire earth in many accounts, etc still unresolved I doubt GOG will get to this sort of stuff anytime soon. :\

They've said on FB that this isn't any of four grand publishers they are working to get. So not 2K nor MS.

Worms aren't action based since it's turn based. You have time to think and you can strategize. It's also one of the best hot seat games.

And these links actually contains very important info. I do not use RSS, but at least I can learn that "how to RSS". I think you should make some bigger announcement to make them visible for every GOGer if you continue to use these two outer services (+ some good info "how to RSS" would be also nice).

Don't count on me , if you priced the games of Team17 for $9.99 . ( only if they are updated for the newest systems and quality )

Or, if you finally decide to spend some more work on your web appearance and integrate the promised wishlist and other functionality, I'd suggest a little 'news-ticker' 'frame' on the webpage?

i really don't understand what everyones issue with facebook is, or why people have problems with the way they are notifying people of news/deals,.

All you have to do is have the gog.com main page linked somewhere on your computer.. like a simple icon on your desktop, and anytime you want to see if any news has showed up click it..

Outside of offering some money to someone that works there for a personal phone call, i really don't know what else people are hoping for as far as notification.

one way or another you have to turn on a device/computer, and check e-mail, facebook, or a web address, 3 options and really the last one is the easiest, as its a single click and you can plainly see if anything was updated.

Most of the big companies have migrated from Social based media after it was discovered it wasn't the holy grail of two way communication and have put less importance on it The only ones that advertise the ol' facebook and twitter accounts are the ones late in the game or are rerunning old commercials.

There's also been reports that there are a lot of inactive twitter accounts (twitter quitters) and fb accounts. Fewer posts on fb. Fujek hit it on the head, go where the customers are. Post on the GOG general forums. Companies would kill to have such an active forum on their websites (and I'm pretty sure P&G did). This ties into my other beef, communication in general. Those legal letters was IMO, a PR disaster because GOG was late getting into the forum fray. It is these types of frays that twitter was designed for -as Nestle discovered the hard way when a simple event turned into a PR nightmare and caused their stock to drop. Proper two-way communication would have explained the situation and stopped misinformation.

I do not see why you'd need or even want multiple threads. A lot of the 'social media updates' do not warrant a special thread. Fortunately enough your twitter history is just a single forum thread with some restrictions applied to it, so simply create a sticky thread labelled 'News and Teaser', then reply there with a copy and paste of your social media messages.
Everybody who's interested and follows the forum gets a visible sign without having to visit third party platforms and nothing clutters up this 'very unique ecosystem'.
Include a little free code every now and then and you're sure to have yourself plenty a reader following each of your words *winks*.

The question I'd be asking in such a scenario would be why GOG users are treated as lesser citizen though and get their kick when everything is long done.
