Thanks for the suggestions so far, went out shopping today with an idea of what to look for.
Has anyone owned the HP Pavillion 23XI?
Looked great in the store and very much on sale. :-)
You could see the contrast difference from a mile away.
None of the suggested ones were available locally to compare.

Hp 23xi is a ips monitor with a heavy anti glare coating, i belive 25xi and 27xi have glossy finnish.
Also look up reviews on youtube.
