Heavy Rain was brilliant. I don't know what you people are talking about.

Runehamster: Uh...I just watched some of the giant bomb playthrough thing. I've no experience in any genre remotely like this - why would anyone play a game that has all the interactivity and depth of a Freddy the Fish learning game?

StingingVelvet: In the case of Heavy Rain because it was massively hyped and looked like a million bucks (and again, at least you could walk around).

In this case? Not sure. I guess because you reaaalllllyyyyy love Jurassic Park? Telltale seem to be making the false assumption that a) people don't want any gameplay in their adventure games, and b) people only play adventure games for story. While adventure games are very story-heavy there is still gameplay, you walk around and explore, you hunt for items, you try to figure out puzzles, etc..
God, sounds like Tresspasser all over again.
IMHO, the port of the first Turok Game to the PC remains the only really sucessful Dino based action game for the PC.

That actually is a decent game if you like average shooters and can take the muddy look of the Unreal Engine 3. I never beat it, I got pretty far though.

It is not a perfect game, but it is fun ...a lot more fun then that huge bore of a game called "Jurassic Park:Tresspaser".
If you love walking around forever without anything happening, you will love Tresspasser. And now I am reading that teh upcoming trespasser game also has alot of walking around without anything happening. History Repeats itself.
I give Telltale Games all the credit in the world for bringing back Sam And Max in all their warped glory; but I got a feeling that an out and out action game is not thier forte.

reaver894: I just saw a clip for the upcoming release of the first episode of this game, by crumbs it looks crap, for a 2011 game why are they using 1999 graphics.

Heres where I saw it

Also considering how bad games with dino's seem to do it wouldnt suprise me if this was the beginning of the end for Telltale Games.
Define "1999" graphics. Graphics don't make the game. Mega Man 9 and 10 used "1980's" graphics and seemed to do alright. Games with dinosaurs do just fine, and I cite for reference Dino Crisis and Turok. It's when developer's get lazy and depend on the "power behind the franchise" alone that a game becomes crap. It's kinda why Mega Man X when to Hell after episode 4. After that, each new X game was handled by an entirely new team, so none of the people from the preceding game were there to tell the new guys what was so successful about it, and what sucked. And by that logic, I think this new series will do just fine, because the executives at TellTale aren't ignorant of their own products, and have paid much attention to the successes and failures of past franchise entries, like Sam and Max, and the new Back to the Future series. I haven't played their Monkey Island series, mostly because old-fashioned pirates never appealed to me, but I hear everyone who HAS played it loves it.

By the by, I've heard rumours that TT was developing a "Where's Waldo?" game?

Well, yeah. It probably wouldn't be slated for a physical media release.

predcon: Define "1999" graphics.
1999 Graphics -- noun. -- The Graphics featured in Gerry Anderson's British sci-fi classic TV series, Space: 1999, starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain.

I totally loved that show!
