Fictionvision: I don't even know what to make of this.

You can watch updates from both sides and taunts at each other back and forth on twitter.

WTF!?

They show the freaking video on YOUTUBE!

What happened to military discretion ...
It's getting hard to tell if even the ones participating in this conflict take it serious anymore.

Nah, killing 9 people in rocket strike is not serious at all.

TheJoe: Dave decided to try out GOG.com, a site he just heard about that sells classic games. "Oh, a forum! This'll be so much fun, talking with other classic gamers about the good old days". Alas, he was greeted by war and death and decided not to bother registering.

I'd at least like a blue man to explain why an off topic section is too much to ask for...
I barely play my gog's these days. What keeps me here is the varied discussion topics by a suprisingly above average group of users.

In many ways, the gog forum has become my catchall, and I think we'd lose asomething special by tampering wkth that.
The seriousness of the conflict can best be summed up by this Twitter background image.

What have I done that everybody seems to misinterpret my posts today?
Killing someone =/= taking it serious.
A serial killer might treat his killings very mundane. That doesn't mean that the killings themselves aren't serious - but the serial killer certainly doesn't treat them like it.

kalirion: Without the Jews, there wouldn't have been any Christians or Muslims! So many problems solved!

Except I guess Communism would probably still happen, and Fascism, and Scientology. So no, things probably wouldn't be any better.
That's like saying that had Asia never existed, Korean bbq would never be eaten. You can't tell either way. The world is such a random place and the most trivial of events can have profound impact on seemingly unrelated others (also known as "Indra's Net" or "Chaos Theory")...
Concepts such as a Messiah descending into our world in a particular point in time and space, some final Judgement preceded by fire and brimstone... The Judeo-Christian tradition gave us the notion of linear time. I honestly cannot tell how, why and if the same would've happened under different conditions, in a different world, with different people...

France - Germany

Poland vs Germany vs Russia vs Austria.

SimonG: Just for the record.

You know who acutally as been at each others throats "for hundreds upon hundreds of years"? France and Germany. Or Germany and Sweden. Or Germany and Austria. Well, you get the idea...

And look how that turned out. Not to mention the whole protestant VS. Catholics thing. Or Greece and Turkey. Or England and good food.

A lot of conflicts with much bigger issues have been resolved in the last 200 years.
You've been snippy lately, not sure why. In any case I find the idea of assuming these cultures can't keep the peace as uneducated to be... well, pretty daft, really. The entire world's foreign policy is somewhat based on the fact these two cultures can't get along.

But whatever, I will go EDUCATE myself about salami, because I am hungry.

Wow, I never thought of it that way. But it does make sense.

Great. Now I'm hungry.

But your are right on the other thing. I try to be less snippy.

We should relocate Israel to New Zealand, all they have over there is sheep and orcs. And the orcs could use a thinning down now and then.

The Boxer Rebellion and Spanish-American war.

Foxhack: Honestly, the only way to get them to stop fighting would be for humanity to stop existing.
Or come up with some geographical distance between those involved.

I know: Greece is broke and has little to lose, so let Israel swap places with them. They'd both keep their sunny weather, olives, and oceanfront property. See? Piece o' cake. ; )

You have a very subjective view of "bigger issues". Or maybe... comparing one genocide to another is somewhat unproductive to begin with.
