I SO want to go to Beirut. The Paris of the east, as I heard many people calling it. Actually, I hope its better than Paris, which I highly dislike.

If not for a certain falling out with my former employee, I would have visited it last time I was in the region. Flights are so cheap down there. Still on my list. Had already to postpone my visits to Damascus....

Oh, about that.

Lebanon considered legal actions against Homeland tv series producers who "shown Lebanon as a dangerous country filled with terrorists"

They chose the wrong day to make such claims, because the day after, terrorist trap bombs exploded killing and wounding multiple people in one of the biggest Lebanon city.

Oh, the irony.

If you mean because the youth are friendly, I don't really trust that. Yes we're more interconnected and educated about other cultures than ever before, but these two peoples have been killing each other for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Forgive me for assuming it will take a real win to achieve any lasting peace.

You know who acutally as been at each others throats "for hundreds upon hundreds of years"? France and Germany. Or Germany and Sweden. Or Germany and Austria. Well, you get the idea...

And look how that turned out. Not to mention the whole protestant VS. Catholics thing. Or Greece and Turkey. Or England and good food.

A lot of conflicts with much bigger issues have been resolved in the last 200 years.
