Hello

Im an australian and Ive recently been looking at some threads in some aussie sites about The Witcher 2

Ive never heared of gog before, so Im just wondering a few things:

Can I purchase a retail boxed copy of The Witcher 2
Is this also fully uncensored?
What region would this game be and where is gog located?

Thanks for any info
You can buy a retail boxed copy, yes, but on this site it's all downloadable digital versions. For points 2 and 3, you can actually set what region you live in in your account settings and that determines what region of the game you'll get. The Australian version is indeed censored, unlike the releases from every other country, I'm afraid. The region is basically "worldwide" but then there's the "Aussie Edition" that your government thought you'd prefer... GOG is based in Poland but works on an international level (all countries get the same game, The Witcher 2's Australian censored version being the sole exception) and the prices are all done in US dollars regardless of your region.

If you want a boxed version (which means all the bonuses like the map and books will be "real") and you want it uncensored, your best bet is probably to import it from the UK via Amazon.co.uk - it's about £25 on there right now.

Hi there.
GOG is digital download only, they won't sell you a boxed copy.
GOG is based in Poland.
Due to various factors, people with Australia or New Zealand set as their country in their account will be sold a version that matches the Australian retail product. Also, Australians will pay a price based on the Australian retail price, but will also receive $US26 worth of codes to use on GOG to make up the difference.

Our government are knobs regarding game censorship.. lol

So on this site, I can only get a digital download version.. ?

Maybe Ill look for another UK retail boxed copy, that should still be uncensored right?

Yeah, I actually just edited this into my original post but no one's going to notice it up there, so...

Here it is, £10 off the recommended retail price apparently.

Ah, I had a sneaking suspicion it might do that since I seemed to remember Amazon.com being like that with me buying games (but not DVDs, oddly). Well you could also try these sites, both £4.95 delivery to Australia:

Not that I would ever condone lying to GoG you could hypothetically change your location from Australia to United States or United Kingdom to get it for a mere $44 USD and uncensored.. .I have heard of a few unsavoury types doing that ;)

I tried to imply that in my first post, but I got the impression his choice was based on having a retail, physical copy. I actually bought my copy off Amazon too because I much prefer the books and map to be physical rather than PDFs.
