Aww, I thought you meant Castlevania news but you just meant Lords of Shadow news. =(

I can't wait for them to go back to making Castlevania games themselves... they even managed to screw up the sidescrollers. The Lords of Shadow game on the 3DS pretends it's a proper one, but it has really unresponsive controls and is very combat orientated (and linear).

Fictionvision: I would also, but I think 2d Castlevania is pretty much dead now. At a press conference before Harmony of Despair released, Koji Igarashi said something like "Hey guys, Castlevania can't stay 2d forever." After that I never heard much of what else he was doing. :(
I don't mind a change in graphical style, but the 3DS game was an abomination. Sure it plays in 2D but it's just... horrible with spongy laggy controls. It's like they thought that just by making it a sidescroller and copying the Metroidvania mapping style people would believe them when they said it's a 2D Castlevania game.

Also IGA hasn't had anything to do with any of the Lords of Shadow games so maybe Konami forcibly removed him from the series? =(

JudasIscariot: I know it's not a classic Castlevania but I also like God of War-style games :D. As long as I can pull out wicked combos, plot becomes secondary at that point :P
Why are you so declined mr blue text man

Well they can go 2.5D (i.e. Dracula X Chronicles) if they really wants to :)
My keyboard is ready.

Grargar: Don't care much. When I played it on PS3, I honestly felt like I was playing God of War rather than Castlevania.
This. It's not even Castlvania anymore. I wish they'd do a classic 2d style platformer again.

Dracula X Chronicles was fine with me. It being announced is what convinced me to get a PSP. Same as playing a demo of Dawn of Sorrow at EB Games convinced me to buy a DS when it came out. When I read Mirror of Fate was being made by a totally different team I decided to wait and see how it went. After playing a store demo I was glad I didn't spend money on a 3ds just to play it.

I just checked Wikipedia to see if there was any info. Apparently he is making Kinect games now ;_;
I was actually disappointed by Konami's pre-E3 stuff. I really don't care about MGS, and I wanted some more 2D Castlevania lurve. Give me a SotN 2, not LoS 2, gdi. :(
Wings : check !
Mount : check !
Hats/costumes : mask ?
Blue giant : check !
Awesome voice acting : check !
Catchy rewiews : check !

Seems they quite respected the 'game of the year' formula.
What kind of game is it anyway ? I didn't see any explosing-candlestisck-dropping-gold OR dagger/holy_water/axe throws. The castlevania recipe is not here yet.

I own a 3DS so I downloaded the demo from the online store... I played the entire demo hoping, waiting to see if it got better but it didn't.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I'll agree with the others saying that Lords of Shadow was more of a God of War knock-off than a Castlevania game, and not a good one at that, there's a reason why God of War isn't known for its platforming and why you shouldn't copy it.

I could have put that behind me and just dismiss the console Castlevanias from then on (as I had in the past) and focus on the 2D portable ones, that way everyone would have been happy, but 3DS one was less of a Castlevania game and more like just a 2D Lords of Shadow.

Crosmando: Lol, you know console gaming is dying when even the Japanese are porting their games to PC to make bank
I'd say, "you know Japanese publishers are deserting their own market when they're porting to PC and then excluding their own market from buying". But then, that's been going on for years now.
To be purchased, even if my PC can't handle the (first) game. Heck, they have Patrick "Jean Luc Picard" Steward on board, every other consideration is null.

Every single 2D Castlevania since SOTN EXCEPT for The Adventure:Rebirth has been SOTN 2.

LoS was flawed but fun and interesting. I have not tried mirror of Fate yet. and I am hyped for LoS2. as long as they have more classic castlevania tunes besides music box bloody tears/vampire killer (I forget which one was in the music box level). Hell, even the walk cycle in LoS was classic Castlevania.

And he was having an absolute BLAST playing the part. You could tell he was having fun with the role.

Pretty happy the last one is coming to PC. It's not really my kind of game but my nostalgia for Castlevania made me want to play it, plus I like the aesthetic.

I wish Microsoft and 2K Games would understand the whole "porting the previous game before releasing sequel on PC" thing.

eh it's more that Konami's pretty much dead and doesn't really have anyone to even work on games anymore, and the ones that do are all put on the MGS series.

hence all the outsourcing titles (LoS, Frontier Gate, MGR)

tinyE: I think I was ruined by the original Castlevania; it was so damn hard and everyone seemed good at it but me. That has nothing to do with this thread but I love reminiscing about the past. :D
I actually beat the original game for the first time last year. It actually isn't all that hard outside the last stretch, just that you really only have one good shot per continue to clear the stage like a lot of older games because you'd be a bit short on powerups if you died.
