Navagon: I loved the first one. The second one was pretty good too, but the cars fell apart too easily in my opinion.

Interested to see if the formula can still work as well today.
The second one was much, much worse. Carmageedon II tried to make a big graphic improvement using 3d pedestrians, but the result was really predictable; Less pedestrians on screen and less fun. Sadly the first version showed used 2d models for the pedestrians but that was changed during development of the release version.

That's just the way things were going at the time. 3D was pretty crap for most things back then but that didn't stop every publisher from requiring games be as 3D as possible. At least Carmageddon 2 didn't suffer as badly from that as Earthworm Jim and Simon the Sorcerer did.

Great news! Hope it'll be more like the first one, didn't like the sequels so much.

happy to hear that many people feel the same way as me

you have to admit it though, the title of the second game was pretty cool: Carpocalypse now. I wish more videogames would have puns like that today

Exactly my thoughts. :)
I also wish car design would be crazier, more like in the first game. And that PhysX stuff could make those action chainsaws, pneumatic spikes and whatnot very useful.
The original game was a thing of beauty.
I never played the other games but I'm interested to try it.
haha it will be nice to play carmageddon again multiplayer would be fun
It's going to be an fps.

WBGhiro: It's going to be an fps.
In that case the game sould be caleed fragmageddon
It definitely should be like the first one.It was pure 10/10.Second one had it charms,it was a very good game by all means but not as good as first one.8/10.Third one (TDR 2000) i dont want to mention, since nothing realy bonds me with it.4.5/10

By the way cant wait for first one to show up here. With Splat Pack expansion, never really played it!

And it was about time,we waited too long for this

An FPS with a little driving (two short cutscenes) to "connect back to the previous games" (a.k.a. "spit them in the face").

Even if GOG succeed in getting Catrmageddon, they will have problems with the Splat Pack. The original game have many bugs and crashed frecuently, even in Spain was retired from the stores (and I had to buy it from the SCI store). This happened with the original game in my pentium 200 MMX/ Windows 98/ 3dfx computer, but when I actaully tried to run the game on a emulator on a using Dos Box.... Well, I was unable to play it. The first Carmageddon (without expansion pack) run fine on Dos Box though.
